derek hadn't heard from malia in a couple hours and was becoming increasingly more freaked out. he was pacing the kitchen went the front door burst open.

everyone rushed to see who it was. malia was leant against the doorway panting heavily- her clothes were badly ripped with large splotches of blood and there were unhealed bruises littered all over her body. scott rushed forward to help. they managed to haul malia to a chair in the kitchen and isaac began checking her wounds. he noticed the smell of the blood had a faint scent of vanilla- contrasting to malias scent of chocolate and orange. he didn't say anything though- not wanting to stir the pot.

eventually malia calmed down and gasped out.

"stiles, stiles a- attacked me... he- he ran off as soon as he could. he sm- smashed my phone. i'm i'm sorry, i- i tried to stop him"

she began to bawl near the end and many were quick to comfort her. derek on the other hand had a dark look on his face. his eyes were blazing and betrayal seared through him. he couldn't believe he had even put an ounce of trust in stiles. anger overwhelmed him as he stormed out the room. isaac watched him go with worry.

deep inside him something felt wrong about this situation. stiles wouldn't just go feral and run. he wouldn't. isaac thoight back on their last conversation. stiles had promised him he wasn't planning on it- his heartbeat had stayed even and he radiated happiness. isaac had no reason not to beleive his word. but that meant... well that meant either malia was lying or he really did run.

-

it had been two days and most of the pack stopped looking for signs of stiles. if malia was telling the truth then he did run. they were all filled with sadness and anger over his actions. many felt furious towards him whilst others could partially understand. only three never really stopped: scott, isaac and in secret derek.

derek mostly sat in what used to be his and stiles' room- trying to keep his scent he hated stiles now though. he hated how much he trusted him and he hated him for leaving.

malia was fully healed and every few hours isaac would ask her again exactly what happened. every single time he asked her story would change slightly. he wrote down exactly what she said straight after he heard it. when he looked at her first story compared to her latest- things got messy.

"isaac"

she sighed exasperatedly as he asked her again.

"i'm tired and i know you don't want to beleive what stiles did but do you really think i did anything?"

she waited for the curly haired boy to reply he just let out a sigh of his own.

"yeah. i'll stop- get some rest"

malia thanked him and he went to his room, his desk was plastered with previous retellings of the story. he sat down and began to write up the last one he got.

he had just finished writing her last story down when he froze. she said they had been at KFC, stiles hated KFC, something he found out after a late night conversation.  when he studied the story closer it says he had won a rabbit stuffed animal. stiles hated rabbits, they tried watching a nature documentary together and stiles practically cheered when a rabbit got eaten by a fox- that was the first and last time isaac and stiles watched a nature documentary together.

isaacs eyes were frantic now, flitting across the words as they made less and less sense. his eyes darted from one letter to another- each were different. she said they walked down a desolate corridor- there  stiles stopped, and attacked her from behind. she said before he ran off he snatched her phone and crushed it. then he laughed about 'never to trust a fox'

isaac stood up quickly- something was so wrong with all of this. he seemed to be the only one who noticed. it was 3am- malia was downstairs sleeping in the living room so they could keep a better eye on her. she was in her room during the day though.

as quietly as he could he snuck out his room and down the corridor to hers. careful not to step on any creaky floorboard or close his door to loudly. silently he slipped in. isaac studied his surroundings- he didn't know what he was looking for but she must be hiding something.

first he checked her bedside table. nothing, then her drawers, her cupboard her shelf. he practically tore the room apart in a manic state. there wasn't a chance he hadn't made a sound.  he stood staring at the mess he had made in frustration. he knew something was up. he couldn't prove it though. he couldn't help stiles. a voice behind him made isaac practically jump
out of his skin.

"what the hell do you think your doing?"

isaac froze, he turned slowly to be faced with an extremely tired and angry alpha. isaac swallowed nervously.

"i- i don't know how to explain it-"

"try"
derek cut off eyeing him carefully.
isaac took a deep breath.

"stiles wouldn't run"

derek scoffed and rolled his eyes bitterly.

"he promised me derek. he promised- besides. malias story doesn't add up in multiple ways. i tried tracing stiles' phone and i couldn't find it at all. i think malias lying. i need to find out why. so- so either go and leave me alone or help"

he finished, casting his eyes to the floor. derek stood frozen for a moment before walking in and searching under carpets. isaac breathed a sigh of relief and did the same. after fifteen minutes they stood, a sheen of sweat on their foreheads. isaac could tell derek was almost done. he had almost given up on the plan. isaac couldn't let that happen. he had a feeling- a gross feeling in his stomach telling him stiles badly needed them. little did he know derek had the same.

"what- what about under the matress?"

derek rubbed his eyes. but agreed. they lifted it up slowly, a black object caught isaacs eye. he reached underneath and snatched it. when the put it under the light both growled lowly. it was stiles' phone- completely smashed up. the little fox sticker on the back was scratched and carried a faint smell of foxglove.

derek was already out the door, storming down to the living room. he grew even more furious when she saw nowhere to be found.

"she's gone. SHES GONE"

he yelled, completely wolfed out. the rest of the pack who had been woken up by their growls and dereks roar. they swarmed into the living room ready to fight. when there was no danger they turned to derek.

he glared at everyone

"stiles didn't run. malia did something with him. we need to find him before he's sold or worse. killed"

the group looked worried. very worried. this was a shit situation.

hope it was alright.
