----------------------

QUICKLY UNLOCKING THE front door of your house, you closed it and locked it behind you before setting the shaking box in the middle of the house, between the kitchen island and the living room couch. The house you lived in wasn't small but it wasn't big either, only fitting an upstairs.

Quickly placing your groceries on the island counter, the thought of eating disappearing only temporary. You stood a distance away from the box, your stance being one of a baseball player preparing to catch a baseball. You had completed step one, which was to bring the cats in your home. But you had never planned ahead onto step two.

Your eyebrows furrowed in frustration as you desperately tried to think of a plan, and quickly as well. You could tell that the cats knew they had stopped just by the lack of movement of the box. If they come out, all hell will be loose.

Or maybe they are nice cats. Maybe they belong to someone and that person accidentally left them there, you tried to think happily before that happiness went down the drain. Then again, why would someone throw away nice cats? Or even leave them in a box in an unknown alley for that matter!?

Humans are weird, you concluded with a sigh, eyes still tracked on the box as you pulled out your phone from your back jean pocket. Typing in something to google, you immediately began searching for a nearby rescue shelter. It was only 3:30 PM, which meant some shelters had to be opened.

When you found one, you let out a relieved sigh, eyes still tracked on the box as you dialed in the place's number and placed the phone to your ear. Your phone vibrated and hummed for five seconds before a click could be heard, signaling that someone had picked up.

"Hello! Thank you so much for calling Jasper's Pet Daycare, Spa & Vet Checkup! How may I help you?" a high-pitched woman's voice answered and you could tell it was a blondie just by her forced tone, the sound of a coffee mug clinking in the background, and her strained, high-pitched voice.

"Hi, I was just calling for a few questions. That is, if you don't mind." You replied back in the best kindest voice you could muster.

"Of course I don't mind! Go ahead, dear!"

"I've recently just rescued six cats. They looked abandoned, poor things were sitting in a box in a lonely alley. I took them to my place and now I don't know what to do with them." You began to explain, pacing slightly as your eyes were taken off of the cat's box for a moment as you walked to your island counter, already taking out the groceries. "I was hoping you would know what to do."
