NOTE: Hi people!

How are you guys doing? The chapters will get bigger from now on, I believe. I kind of wanted to use this first start to put the characters into context.

Also, I've been very inspired to write my original story, so it's been hard to focus on this story which is why it took me some time to write.

Anyway, another chapter is on! Thank you all for the affection, and please let me know your thoughts about it!

Hope you like it.

Enjoy~

The fact that Iris sent her to her father's house did not mean Mia would actually go there. The girl took the bag the elf had left with her, and instead of going to the address she had found, she decided to venture out into London.

The muggles, the buildings, the cars, the streets. Everything. It was all so different that the girl couldn't help but feel fascinated.

She noted that her mother had put some muggle money in her backpack, so Mia bought clothes in a second-hand shop, hoping to blend in better among the people. It was nothing much. Just a pair of beat-up red all-stars, trousers whose hem she had to fold to adjust to her size, and some T-shirts so worn-out that the prints were almost gone. She was about to buy a jacket when she saw that her mother had put one in her bag. It was black, belted and leather, with a few pins hanging off it.

It made her look outstandingly hot.

For the first time, Mia felt comfortable in what she was wearing. It was as if, finally, the clothes expressed who she was and not who she should be. It was liberating, to be completely honest.

Mia was wandering around town one afternoon when she spotted something interesting. There was something that the muggles used named eyeliner. It was dark and stylish, made her eyes pop and matched perfectly with the blood-red lipstick she kept wearing.

Red lips symbolised power. No one ever underestimates a woman in red lipstick.

Iris told her once in one of her lapses of kindness. Mia always seemed to remember that, weirdly. It was funny how she used to think that nothing related to her appearance was actually hers. However, she couldn't help but notice that even if her clothes and shoes changed, the perfectly applied make-up and perfectly groomed hair remained the same.

It was half and half, like all of her, really.

Mia used the free time she was there to learn more about the muggles. She learned about music, cinema and theatre. The experience was so surreal she could tell that the two weeks she spent there, escaping and surviving in muggle London, were the best of her life.

Or they could be.

Mia still had nightmares, and they now seemed more and more vivid than ever. Mia wasn't understanding anything anymore but thought the figures must mean something. That all of that dreams must mean something. Not to mention that it didn't matter how incredible it was to be there. Everything seemed empty and emotionless without Archer and Jamie with her.

Mia had found herself a few distractions while she was there. Well, it wasn't that hard for boys to notice her in the first place. She never really took advantage of her looks until now, and even though things were different now, she never did anything much, only distracted herself and got a few drinks.

She never crossed any lines. She would flirt, get her drinks for free and, sometimes, a little money. She never did anything, though. Sometimes, when the guy was really hot or really fun, she would go as far as kissing them.
