real life !

coming home from school, ameira can already hear the yelling from her parents coming in from upstairs. she sighs and takes her shoes off, carrying them as she walks upstairs and into her room. "if there is another man then let me know!" her dad yells.

"you know how stupid you sound!" her mom yells back, and now that resulted in them screaming even louder.

ameira turns on her speaker, not hesitating to begin playing music—keeping it low so that her parents wouldn't come inside.

she sat on her bed, deflecting on everything that happened today. she finally stood up to morgan and kelly, and it felt amazing! when she did that to them she felt like she did it to her old friends and ex, and that made her feel a little happier.

sure it was good to have the weight lifted off her shoulder, but it was only one shoulder. the other shoulder was still weighted from her parents and it has always been ever since she started high school. she never understood where the hatred they had for her came from so fast but she didn't like it at all, she hated it with everything in her.

what did she do? that question lingered on for four whole years and it still was unanswered.

the door busts open and of course it's her parents. ameira pauses her music and looks away from them and at her window. "when did you get home?" her mother asks.

"five minutes ago." ameira answers, picking at her nails.

"this room is a mess." her dad comments randomly—as always. ameira glances around her room. sure it wasn't clean, there were clothes on the floor from this morning and she was gonna pick them up today but she didn't have the energy to at the moment. "been home for five minutes but you haven't cleaned your room."
