25. Surprise went wrong

The whole day Dia went ignoring Karan while he was adamant to get on her nerves being always around her. 

In the afternoon Dia first had a board meeting as a new CEO and then she called a meeting to know what projects are being handled in this firm and which have been completed. She also asked the accounts manager to get her the reports after the meeting to see how many losses this company has faced and where its money goes, being a loophole. And during this investigation of her as a new boss, Karan was standing on her head. He asked his staff to handle all files in his hands and decided to explain himself to her.

Dia scrunched her nose seeing him with files in her cabin again and roared at him. But ignoring that he simply made himself comfortable in his ex cabin and with a relaxed and calm face he looked at her. A smile was playing on his lips and that made Dia bit her lips and hold her head. 

"What the fuck are you doing here with this?", she said, gritting her teeth.

The shooting daggers of her eyes made him aware he was pissing her off. And somewhere he knew she wouldn't burst on him and even if she does he is ready for that. But after an eternity that he has met her, he doesn't want to leave a single moment without her glance.

"File… I got the file which you wanted. And afterall who could explain you better than me", he said, passing a cheeky smile.

"Of course the person whom I asked to carry the file..", she said with a duh attitude.

"But he's not available, I'm.. now let's start!", he said again with that smile.

 Dia closed her eyes, sighing deeply and shook her head. She inhaled and exhaled a few times before looking back at him, controlling her temper only to frown deeper. Karan was smiling suppressing his laughter looking at her and that irked Dia.

"Will you just stop smiling?", she said glaring at him and he nodded.

She then asked Karan to show her files and he himself getting to her side started dictating and showing out of the blue. The distance gap slowly started getting less and less which annoyed her. She knew he was doing this intentionally to irritate her. Poking her tongue to her cheeks she slammed her hand with a pen on the table and he straightened himself.

"You… you just leave this file and I'll help myself with it", she said looking down at the table to be calm.

"No… why would I? I- I mean I'll stay here only for your help. And even explain you nicely", he tried to justify his presence.

"Lis–te…", she started grabbing the pen like a knife to poke him.

"Fine .. I- I .. will just sit there at my place and you go through it. But I won't go from here… like you know what if you want to ask something or get puzzled", he said and quickly took his seat.

Dia kept her pen down again and sighing for the nth time while swallowing her anger down to the pit of her stomach she got back to the serious mood again. She asked him to give the files and one by one she went through it thoroughly. She found out many loopholes and also was able to understand that Karan neglected his business on a pro level. His big projects were gone from his hands because of his carelessness and delays in finishing projects being unprofessional. 

Now I know how and why so easily I got to capture this empire!!, she said internally.

For literally 2-3 hours she went through those files in detail and whenever looked at Karan to ask something or just like that she found him staring at her with dreamy eyes. She wanted to just throw him away from her cabin, her office but unfortunately he still holds 30% which sucks and secondly he is too stubborn to leave and will try to find another reason to get on her nerves easily.
