Chapter 57: On The Run

"Dylan? Like Dylan Conrique?"

"Yes. She found me."

"Okay, but that doesn't explain why you are hiding in my apartment."

"She's trying to kidnap me! At first I let her in my house, which was already creepy that she found where I lived, then she started bringing herself onto me, I told her no and now she's trying to kidnap me. She's your friend! Help me!"

"Dylan and I aren't friends. She tried to kill me!"

"You guys used to be friends, what happened?"

"One, she stole my ex boyfriend, Two, she tried to apologize then kill me, three, she's insane apparently."

"Jesus. Do you think I can hide here for a bit? It's fine if not-"

"That's fine-"

"Not happening-"

"Kit." I turned to look at him. "Give me a second Josh."

I pull Kit into the other room.

"Okay, I know you've got beef with him which is my fault, but he's asking for our help."

"I don't care, Dylan can take him."

"Kit, please."

Kit let out a long sigh.

"Fine, only because you're a nice person."

"Thank you."

We walked back out.

"I can leave if you want-"

"Nah, it's fine." Kit said.

"Thank you guys."

"It's no problem, Josh."

"Now how long are you thinking about hiding here?"

"Kit-"

"Probably only like a day or two."

"I'm cool with that."

I gave Kit a side eye.

"I'm gonna order food. What do you guys want?"

We ended up ordering Chinese food. The three of us were sitting in the living room. Kit's jealousy was showing big time. I was talking to Josh and Kit just stared at him.

Josh turned to us.

"Do you mind if I use your shower?"

"That's fine. Go down the hall, first door on the right."

"Thanks."

Once Josh was in the bathroom I turned to Kit.

"Okay, what's up?"

"What do you mean?"

"Ever since Josh has got here you've been acting weird."

"Well what do you expect from me?"

"Kit.."

"Whatever."

"I'm sorry."

"For what? Something that happened months ago?"

"Can we not go back to this?"

"It's always gonna go back to this, Lex. Anytime he's here it's gonna go back to this."

"Look. Josh is the past. I swear it will never happen again."

"You said that before and look what happened."
