As Sung Hoon's car pulled up to Lucy's home in Daegu, anticipation bubbled in his chest like a fizzy soda. Despite his busy schedule, he had made time to see his beloved Lucy, and the thought of finally being able to hold her in his arms after weeks of phone calls filled him with a sense of joy and longing.

As he stepped out of the car and greeted Lucy in front of her building, Sung Hoon couldn't contain the smile that tugged at the corners of his lips. "I'm so happy to see you, Lucy," he murmured, his voice filled with genuine affection. "It feels like it's been forever since we've been able to spend time together."

Lucy smiled back, her heart heavy with the weight of the words she knew she had to say. But for now, she pushed aside her doubts and fears, determined to make the most of their precious time together.

They enjoyed a delicious meal at Lucy's favorite restaurant, the laughter and easy conversation flowing between them like a gentle stream. From there, they wandered hand in hand through the bustling streets of downtown Daegu, relishing the anonymity that came with Sung Hoon's disguise.

As they approached Lucy's doorstep, the air grew heavy with tension, the weight of the impending conversation hanging between them like a dense fog. With a deep breath, Lucy turned to face Sung Hoon, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Sung Hoon," she began, her voice trembling with the effort to keep her emotions in check. "I... I think we should break up."

Sung Hoon's eyes widened in shock, his heart plummeting to the pit of his stomach at the words he never thought he'd hear. "Break up?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.

Lucy nodded, her eyes brimming with tears as she struggled to find the courage to continue. "It's not about you, Sung Hoon," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the rush of her own heartbeat. "It's about me. I just... I can't do this anymore."

But even as she spoke the words, a lump formed in Lucy's throat, the weight of her own heartache threatening to suffocate her. She knew that what she was about to say would hurt Sung Hoon deeply, and the thought tore at her soul like a jagged knife.

"I don't like how clingy you are," she forced herself to say, her voice breaking with each syllable. "And your 'good guy' image... it's tiring and cringe. I've just been tolerating it until now because I felt sorry for you and because you begged me to stay."

As the hurtful words spilled from her lips, Lucy felt as though she were tearing her own heart in two. Each syllable was like a dagger to her soul, a painful reminder of the love she still felt for Sung Hoon despite the inevitable end of their relationship.

Sung Hoon's eyes widened in shock, his expression a mix of disbelief and devastation. "Lucy," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "I... I can change. Just tell me what you want me to do, and I'll do it. Please, don't leave me."

But Lucy shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks as she placed her palm on his chest, pushed Sung Hoon gently back from the doorway. "I'm sorry, Sung Hoon," she said softly, her voice barely audible over the rush of her own tears. "But it's over."

And with those final words, Lucy closed the door behind her, leaving Sung Hoon alone on the doorstep, his heart shattered into a million pieces. And as she retreated into the safety of her home, the echoes of her own pain reverberated through her soul, a haunting reminder of the love she had lost.

As Lucy retreated into the sanctuary of her home, leaving Sung Hoon alone on the doorstep, a heavy silence descended upon the night like a suffocating shroud. For three long hours, Sung Hoon stood motionless in the darkness, his heart in turmoil as he grappled with the devastating reality of their breakup.

With each passing moment, the weight of his grief threatened to crush him, leaving him feeling hollow and empty inside. He couldn't tear himself away from the place where he had last seen Lucy, as if by staying there, he could somehow turn back time and undo the pain that had been inflicted upon them both.

But as the hours slipped by and dawn began to break on the horizon, Sung Hoon knew that he couldn't stay any longer. With a heavy heart, he turned away from Lucy's door, his footsteps heavy with the weight of his sorrow as he made his way back to his car.

The drive back to Seoul was a blur of tears and anguish, the pain of his shattered heart threatening to consume him whole. And as he arrived home, the emptiness of his apartment echoed the emptiness of his soul, leaving him feeling more lost and alone than ever before.

In his despair, Sung Hoon turned to the one thing that had always brought him comfort: alcohol. Despite being a light drinker, he found himself reaching for bottle after bottle, drowning his sorrows in a haze of numbness and oblivion.

But no amount of alcohol could dull the pain of losing Lucy, the ache of her absence gnawing at his insides like a relentless beast. He was a mess, lost in a whirlwind of anger, sadness, and hurt, unable to make sense of the shattered fragments of his heart.

In a desperate bid for solace, Sung Hoon reached out to his friend Se Joon, his fingers shaking as he typed out a text message that bore the weight of his shattered dreams and broken heart.

Sung Hoon: I need to talk to you, Se Joon. It's about Lucy.

Seconds felt like hours as he waited for a response, his heart pounding in his chest as he braced himself for the inevitable conversation that lay ahead.

And when Se Joon's reply finally came, it was like a lifeline thrown to a drowning man, offering a glimmer of hope in the darkness of his despair.

Se Joon: I'm here for you, Sung Hoon. What's going on?

Sung Hoon: I don't know what to do, Se Joon. I feel like I've lost everything.

Se Joon: I'm here for you, Sung Hoon. Take a deep breath. What's going on?

Sung Hoon: Lucy... she broke up with me. I don't understand. Everything seemed fine, and then suddenly...

Se Joon: I'm so sorry to hear that, Sung Hoon. Breakups are never easy.

Sung Hoon: I just can't stop thinking about her. Every moment we shared, every word we spoke... it's like a knife in my heart.

Se Joon: It's okay to feel that way, Sung Hoon. Grieving is a natural part of the process.

Sung Hoon: But it hurts so much, Se Joon. I feel like I'll never be whole again.

Se Joon: I know it's hard to see right now, but you will heal, Sung Hoon. It'll take time, but you'll find a way to move forward.

Sung Hoon: I don't know if I can, Se Joon. I feel like I'll never be able to love anyone else the way I loved her.

Se Joon: I understand, Sung Hoon. But don't close yourself off to the possibility of happiness in the future. You deserve to find love again.

Sung Hoon: I just wish I could turn back time. Maybe then I could fix things, make them right again.

Se Joon: I know it's tempting to dwell on the past. But you have to focus on the present and the future. That's where your strength lies.

Sung Hoon: I don't know if I have any strength left. I feel so lost, so empty inside.

Se Joon: You're stronger than you realize, Sung Hoon. And you're not alone. I'll be here for you every step of the way.

As Sung Hoon poured out his heart to Se Joon, the weight of his sorrow pressing down on him like a suffocating blanket. Despite his friend's comforting words, the pain of losing Lucy felt insurmountable, a gaping chasm of emptiness that threatened to swallow him whole. And as he stared into the abyss of his own despair, Sung Hoon couldn't help but wonder if he would ever find a way to escape its grasp and emerge into the light once more.
