KETLIN

Lucy told me, how my granny had called just at the right moment, when Lucy had decided to come after me. Granny had foreseen, that Lucy was coming. She had also seen, that Lucy wasn't coming with bad intentions, so she knew she can trust her.

Granny had told her, how she couldn't stand it anymore how I was treated. And if I had told, that Lucy won't hurt me, it's a better choice than torturing me like this. She told Lucy where I was, because thanks to wollemia it was harder for deemotays to find this place. Granny planned my escape and Lucy had to wait for me, to get me as far as possible. I had to keep the necklace, as it was my granny's wish. Though, Lucy had some trouble taking it off while I was sleeping. She admitted it hurt her, but after that Adam was able to carry me into hotel.

I only spent two days in that hotel. Then Adam decided to take me to Lithuania, where was one of his many residential houses. Then we'll see, if we're going to stay there or keep travelling.

When we started our trip and left the hotel, I noticed that the car had been changed. A sports car again, but this time silver. Adam said they changed it just in case.

Then we started our long trip to Lithuania. Lucy was driving, me and Adam on the back seat. I understood that Lucy wanted to use her powers and just teleport, which would have taken only a split second. Cars are too slow for her. But because teleporting me would have been too tiring or - over that long distance - even dangerous for me, we had to use car. Adam could be driving himself, but I wanted to be in his arms, rest my head on his shoulder and enjoy being with him.

I was happy. I hope I can be with him forever. But I was still concerned about one thing, that I hadn't yet mentioned to anyone. But I'm sure Adam has thought about it too. I mean, he was immortal. I was a normal person, who gets older with every second. If he wants to be with me, he has to change me. And I have no idea if he'll be willing to do it, or he wouldn't like to think of it. But however it is, I need to talk about it with him soon.

We made a few stops, for me, or if we needed to tank the car. One of those times, while Lucy stayed with the car, I and Adam entered a near by cafe. We were still in Latvia, but near to the Lithuanian border. I had already discovered that Adam can speak Latvian clearly. So I don't think there will be any troubles in Lithuania also.

But I still couldn't get my thoughts away from if we'll stay together and what will happen with us. When we exited the cafe, I stopped.

"Adam, will I ever have to go back home?" I asked quietly.

"I'm not going to make you do anything," he said with calm, mild voice.

"In that case I'd like to stay with you."

Adam put his hands around my waist and kissed me. "I'd like that."

"Forever," I whispered. He didn't answer. "But I'm not immortal," I said then.

He still didn't say anything. I looked in his grey eyes, that looked into mine, and I tried to read them. But I couldn't tell what he was thinking about.

"We should get back into car, if we want to be there before dark," he finally said.

I frowned my eyebrow. "Adam?"

"Let's go," he added and headed beck towards the car. I was confused and felt hurt, but I tried not to show it out when I followed him. I wanted to ask him about it, but I didn't know how. Didn't he really want to change me? Why?

We sat in. Lucy had a short glance at me, and from her eyes I could tell she heard what we were talking.

Our trip continued in silence. As I was in his arms, I didn't see his face, but I could feel he was a bit in tense. I didn't say anything yet, but I know I have to raise that subject again, when we'll stay alone.

When we had crossed the Lithuanian border, we still had a long journey ahead, till we finally made it. The house had only one floor, but it was still pretty big. And like his house in Estonia, this one was also surrounded by woods. Adam said he likes the privacy. House inside was really roomy and didn't have much furniture.

Little after arriving, Adam had to go "hunting", so I stayed alone with Lucy. I thought that maybe she can lighten me a bit, about why Adam had acted like this.

"Lucy, why Adam didn't answer me?" I'm sure she knows what I'm talking about.

Lucy came slowly and sat besides me on the couch. At first she didn't say anything and looked away. "Adam understands this problem," she said then, "and he also wants to spend his life with you. I'm sure in that."

"Then why did he turn away?"

"I'm guessing he just can't do it."

I frowned my eyebrow. "Why?"

"Do you know what a person feels, while they're transmuting?"

I nodded. "They feel sick."

"It's worse than cutting your limbs off," she added. "Adam can't hurt you like this."

"But it's better than growing old and die," I protested. "And this is what I want. I don't care how it feels."

She sighed, and I saw some sadness in her eyes. "I have felt it. The only thing you can think of, is to wish you could die. Everything else is forgotten. Only the hope you would die. It would be a pain for Adam to see you like this."

I tried to figure out what to do. "But you could do it," I said then.

Lucy looked at me, a little surprised. "I don't think Adam would let me. He doesn't even trust me enough."

"But I do."

Silence came between us. Lucy looked at me, like she wants to help me, but doesn't know how.

"I think Adam will change you at some point anyway, if it really is your wish. But you have to give him time."

I nodded dejectedly. Hopefully it doesn't take too long. I won't stay that young forever, if I'm still human.

When Adam came back, I wasn't sure anymore if I should talk about this with him now. Like Lucy said, I should give him some time. So I didn't mention it to him at least the rest of that day.

Deemotays don't sleep. But luckily they had a bed here, in Adam's room. He said it's in case he wants to just lay down.

When I went to bet at night, I asked Adam if he would stay there with me until I fall asleep. He lay next to me and I moved myself closer to him. With him I felt happy and safe. But I couldn't fall asleep, and I don't know why.

"I hope you're not bored because of me," I then said quietly, after many long minutes.

He put his hand around me and rubbed my back gently. "Of course not. I can stay here till morning."

That made me smile. "Hopefully I'll get some sleep before that."

"You don't feel sleepy?"

"No."

"We had a long trip."

I nodded. "I know."

He turned himself and finally was above me, he smiled and looked into my eyes. I only saw him thanks to moonlight from the window. I felt my strong heartbeats, when he softly kissed me. It lasted long, I think. Then he pulled back a little and smiled sweetly.

"Dreams will come," he whispered, laying down again, closely next to me. He was still holding his arm around me, rubbing my shoulder. My head rested on his chest, and soon I felt, as I started to get sleepy.
