KETLIN

I felt a bit sick. Then I noticed I was laying on something soft - a bed. I just woke up. But I didn't remember getting to sleep. Then, a shock went through me when I suddenly remembered. I ran into woods where I had heard a shot. I saw Siiri. And she... shot me? ... Where's Adam?

I was afraid to move because I didn't want to get hurt. Finally I opened my eyes. I didn't recognize the place. Walls were covered with dark wallpaper, an old closet was on my right side. Room itself was actually pretty, but I can't remember being here before. And there was something wrong with my sight, but I didn't understand what it was. I tried to rub them.

I suddenly felt someone's presence. So I pulled the blanket a bit back, to see who it was. Adam was sitting on a chair next to my bed.

"Welcome back," he said and smiled.

I was fast to get up to hug him. I was so thankful he was okay.

"Feeling well?" he asked while we were hugging.

I discovered that I didn't feel any pain like I had expected. I did feel completely well, even the slight sickness was now gone. "Yes," I said.

"Ketlin?" It came from the other side of the room and sounded like a mix of surprise, happiness and some other emotions. And it sounded like my mum. I turned my head and saw mum who had just entered the room, granny behind her. This confused me. What were they doing here?

"Hey," I said. "What's going on?" Adam let me lay down again.

"We wanted to be here and make sure you'll be fine," mum said and smiled, which looked like she had troubles keeping tears back. She was happy.

I felt well enough and I didn't want to stay in bed. I pushed my legs over the edge of bed to get up. I noticed that Adam didn't try to stop me. Maybe he didn't just need to. I had actually no idea how badly I got injured. And how long was I blacked out?

"How long I've been here?" I asked him.

"Today is fourth."

Before standing up, I wanted to make sure. "Can I walk?"

"I'm sure you can." He gave me a sweet smile. And I trusted him. So I tried to get on my feet. I still felt great.

"I got shot?" I mumbled. "Didn't the bullet hit any important organs?" I asked and tried to make a few steps.

For a moment he seemed a bit somber. "I actually was afraid you won't make it. Bullet went really close to your heart. You almost bled to death." His voice was quiet and he looked down.

I frowned. Shouldn't I then be in a hospital at the moment. Or dead?

"Adam saved your life," granny told then. "I'd wish to give you a hug but Adam thought it might not be the best idea."

I stared at them, trying to get the point. Then I finally understood what it meant. I turned to hug Adam again, strongly. I couldn't believe it was happening.

"W-wait. Easy now," he said with a smirk.

I let go. "Sorry." I smiled back to him. Then I remembered my mum and granny again.

"And you're okay with that?" I asked them, some hope in my voice.

Adam put his hand on my shoulder. "It was your granny's wish."

Granny nodded. "The main thing is that you're alive."

I wouldn't had even wish for everything to go that well. Except the part I got shot. I looked around the room again. "Where are we?" I asked then.
