2nd last request of EXO Imagines and this is the second Kai imagine in a row! I'm not bothered to put some other request in between, so it'll have to suffice. Another fluff despite my urge to go full-out angst. I swear I'm gathering dust ._.

Exam times were coming like bullet trains and you were in no position to stop them. So the only way to go was to drown yourself in a snowstorm of practice papers and checklists and notes.

~

Kai watched you from his sprawled perch on your bed, books fanned out about him, as you slowly built up your little white fort of study notes, armed with 10 page essays and explanations and diagrams. The caps were pretty much off all the highlighters you owned, from a range of blinding yellows to a violently rosy shade of purple to an electric, stroke-inducing blue. A bit of this to remember, and connected to this, this and this.

You took a moment to breath, gulping like a madwoman as you resurfaced from doing a page of uselessly wordy questions from the quiz bank.

"Why aren't you studying and stressing and dying and crying, Kai?"

"Why are you studying and stressing and dying and crying, Inala? Seriously, are you on your period?"

"You don't just ask a girl that," you snapped waspishly, chucking an uncapped highlighter at him.

It nicked his cheek with a smudge of Hulk green, and your face lit up for a second with childish satisfaction.

"So are you?" he prodded, wiping his cheek futilely.

You stared at the patch of grass-green on your bedsheets and then at the highlighter, innocently laying by Kai's foot. "Well crap. But no."

"Feels like you are though."

"What are you, my twin? My female twin?"

Kai frowned at you. "Very funny. But at least I got your mind off studying for the time being."

You gasped and scrabbled around for your watch. "Gosh I just wasted five minutes of my life. And I was timing myself for these questions. You'd better stop distracting me, Kim Jongin."

He shot you a peace sign and pretended to take notes. There seemed to be an awful amount of green on his papers.

You ignored him and buried yourself in the thick stack of questions again.

~

Meanwhile, Kai was enjoying himself rather thoroughly by drawing an artistic impression of your wonderfully wondrous face. The highlighter green really did suit your eyes, and absolutely brought out the pure attractiveness of your expression.

He glanced over at you, to see your fierce concentration. He considered chucking your highlighter back at you, but then immediately decided against it. You'd probably maim him.

But you were really really pretty, with your lower lip jutted out in a stubborn pout, and your bright eyes framed with long, dark lashes. And he was really really sure he liked you in a non-platonic way, and what was young love without a bit of risk and playfulness?

So Kai went for throwing the highlighter, against all the sensible decisions he had made mere moments ago.

He had great aim, that was all he could say.

~

The projectile smacked you in the nose and flew elsewhere upon impact. You glared up from your paper and fixed a laser stare on your best friend.

"Kim Jongin, you are going down."

And you pounced, straddling him and trapping his arms under you. "I never should've invited you over, should I?"

"You should have! It was a fabulous idea! It was my idea! And they're always fabulous."

"Yeah, yeah, no." You paused to lean down super, super close. "I'm never inviting you over again. And you are not getting a copy of my notes now."

"But Inala," he whined, squirming.

You got off him and resumed your position on the floor with your never-ending questions.

"Oh come on, don't do that to me. I love you ah."

"Sure you do," you grumbled.

He didn't say anything.

The next half hour was spent in companionable silence, and you were getting suspicious. You glanced over at him, and there Kai was, studiously writing notes. He wasn't screwing with the highlighters and looked genuinely focused on his note-writing. You narrowed your eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Kai looked up innocently. "Writing a practice essay."

"Really? Let me read it. Pass it over."

He nodded and scribbled a few more words in with a dramatic flourish. "Here."

He tossed two pages over.

You took them, surprised. Kim Jongin, this best friend of yours whom you have never seen actually write down a line of work since day care, wrote something legit?

It was entitled How and Why I Love You.

"I love someone very special, and this love can be compared to a fairytale where it is not nearly as glamorous or perfect, but it's better. It can be compared to Romeo and Juliet, but it is not a tragedy, and this is the difference that Shakespeare makes. My love for this someone is not something that just poison, fate and misunderstanding can stop," you read slowly.

"Okay. I really cannot write comparative pieces or analysis for my life, but you know, Inala, I think I can express my feelings well enough. I love you. I'm around 100% sure that I do, but I'm not 100% sure you love me back. But that's okay. You'll get to it, loving this beautiful piece of amazingness, won't you? It's not like I'll die suddenly or anything; dancing and your cooking keeps me perfectly healthy. But yeah. I haven't really addressed my title but I actually love you. Let's go on a date after exams, yeah?"

You raised your eyebrows at Kai. "You expect me to say yes, don't you?"

"Well I did read your diary about you having a crush on a certain someone named Kim Jongin... There aren't that many that you know, you know." He grinned that fluffy teddybear smile of his.

You picked up a handful of highlighters and chucked it at him. "Take that, you smug little brat. And you'd better pay for the expenses of that date!"

His smile went a few million times brighter. "Sure will. By the way, have you finished that timed paper yet? It's been a while and I kinda want a kiss."

You rolled your eyes. "Yes I've finished. Come here you."

The End. The 96th imagine is complete =) The next one will be the last requested imagine I do, because no one else responded to that request list chapter. I'll decide whether I'll continue with a 98th and 99th imagine when I get to it, and the 100th imagine will be the grand finale and the last of this series forever =P I think that's how it's going to go.

My exams are coming up next week, so I don't know when the last ones will be updated but you know, no one's missing much XD See you, dearies XD Love you all! ~Kieva
