Grace's P.O.V.

Black.

People don't really take notice of me. I'm like the color black. I'm there, but people avoid me. But I have so much meaning. I could be deep like poetry, or lit up like the night sky.

I could be so pretty, but I choose to stay the same.

I sit uncomfortably in Aiden's truck.

I look over and catch glimpses of Aiden. His eyes are a dark shade of green. They are full of raw emotion.

But I can't read emotion. Because all I know is how to feel.

He looks over at me smirking,"Like what you see?"

I blush. I must have been staring. I look out the window.

I hear a song come on that I recognize all too well.

I reach over and turn it up. Feeling the lyrics.

Everything is blue,
His pills, his hands, his jeans,
Now I'm covered in the colors, pulled apart at the seams.
He makes blue.

He looks over at me as I sing along to the lyrics.

I have always loved to sing and write.

I write down lyrics and sing them out softly when I have time alone.

Aiden stares at me in awe.

I feel a light blush and cover my face as I hear the rest of the lyrics run through my head,

Everything is grey,
His hair, his smoke, his dreams,
Now he's so devoid of color he don't know what it means.
He's blue.

I hum the rest of the chorus before Aiden turns it down and I frown.

"That your favorite song?" He asks.

I nod, not really in the mood.

He smiles,"We still have ten more minutes, why don't we play the question game?"

I shrug, not really caring as the chorus comes back on.

Aiden looks straight ahead,"Alright. I'll go first, What's your favorite color?"

"Black," I say bluntly,"What's yours?"

"Blue," he says in a sing song voice,"Why do you like black?"

I decide just do give him a simple answer,"Because it's deep."

He nods,"Your turn."

I actually have a good question to ask him,"Why did you all of a sudden notice me? The shy girl in the back of class that you accidentally got paired with. Just by a simple push by accident?"

Aiden looks straight ahead as I stare at him, waiting for his answer.

His eyes are stone. No more raw emotion. His mask is there, like nothing happened.

He seems to ignore my question.

I repeat my question,"Why did you all of a sudden notice me?"

He sighs, shrugging,"I don't know. I guess I was hopping to be your friend, after catching your fall and all," he winks at me, the stone face gone, and his player self is back.

I shrug and bluntly say,"Yeah. Sure."

Aiden looks a little hurt by my reaction.

I instantly feel a pang of regret. Wait. What?

I shake my head vigorously, trying to rid myself of the feeling.

I look over to see Aiden covering his mouth, trying not to laugh.

I shrug.

I notice we have stopped. Finally.

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Well work on our projects and stuff then," I say bluntly. My hair sways.

I am met by my older brother in the driveway.

He immediately growls at Aiden,"Why on freaking earth are you with my sister?"

I let my eyes grow wide. I never knew my brother new Aiden.

Aiden lifts his hands in the air,"I'm sorry Jason. I was just giving her a lift, since she walks home everyday."

Suddenly, It's like they are telepathically speaking.

I roll my eyes at there staring contest.

All of a sudden my brother howls at Aiden,"THAT'S MY SISTER YOU IDIOT!"

I jump back, Not expecting it.

Jason quickly grabs my shoulder as an apology, but glares at Aiden,"I'll talk to you later."

Wonder what the heck that was all about.

I shrug it off, not really caring.

My mum is in the kitchen cooking. Her eyes light up when she sees me,"Grace! Your home early!"

I nod,"I got a lift from Aiden."

She glances at Jason, then anger flashes across his face once again, but my mom keeps it neutral,"It's wonderful you have a friend!"

I shrug,"Not sure what a friend feels like to be honest. I just know I get these weird tingles when he touches me."

Jason roars, nearly making me pee myself,"HE TOUCHED YOU?!?!"

I roll my eyes. He's so possessive,"Yeah. I went to fall when I was pushed against the lockers at lunch, and when I was about the hit the floor he caught me. It was weird."

Jason's fist flies to the wall while he yells profanities.

My mum screams at him,"JASON TYLER KAREN CALM DOWN FOR THE GOD'S SAKE!"

I choke back a snort.

Jason mumbles something I can't comprehend and an apology before he goes to his room.

I notice my mum has a look of 'he's the biggest idiot I've ever met' on her face.

I chuckle a little and she smiles.

"Mum, I just don't get it."

She nods rubbing my shoulder as I grab an Apple to eat,"Sweetheart, it'll be okay. You'll figure it all out."

I shrug and go up to my room. I plug my ear buds in, listening to Colors by Hasley. But it just reminds me of how Aiden stared at me when I sang.

I change it to Happy little pill as I sing along to it.

In the crowd alone.
Ever second passing, reminds me I'm not home.
Bright lights and city sounds are ringing like a drum,
Unknown.

I Smile humming, until it comes to the big part,

My happy little pill, take me away.

I swallow back the lump in my throat, these songs get me so emotional and I hate it so much.

I growl, changing the song again, to a more neutral tune.

My heart beats at a steady tempo as I draw the best wolf I have yet.

I call her Alice. She's a beautiful white wolf with bright blue eyes.

I just don't understand, but she looks so familiar.

I shrug it off.

Your just paranoid. Your acting weird. I tell myself.

I believe it.
