*peeks out of bunker*

"Alright Jerry, do you see them?"

*waits*

"Jerry?"

*Jerry huddling in the back*

"C'mon Jerry, you're fine!"

*Jerry muurs, sadly*

"Ohhh you poor big baby! You're the one who went out into the danger zone for another poptart--"

"MUUUUUUUUUUUURR!"

"Watch your sass! It's not my fault they went all Katniss on your sombrero!"

*Jerry sadly puts on sombrero with arrow sticking out of it* "Muurr..."

"Damn right I'm right, I told you you wouldn't get so lucky the second time around."

"Muuurr. Mur."

"What Jerry? I can't understand you when you mumble--"

*Get's hit with water balloon*

*coughing* "D-Damn! Jerry, lower the gate!"

*Dodges tissue box*

*Dodges bicycle*

*Dodges roll of tape*

*Dodges sharpened pencils*

"Hey! I don't want lead poisoning!"

"Muur."

"Shut up Jerry I know pencils are made with graphite--"

*Celery stick slams me so hard it gets stuck in my nose*

"OW! JESUS! TAKE IT!"

*Throws out chapter*

"Jerry, are you done closing the gate?"

*Jerry, standing next to gate, flirting with fake decoy moose wearing a tutu"

"Oh Christ."

Chapter 47:

"I can't get a good picture! That dude's head is in the way!" This is the loudest I've ever heard Ashleigh Woole talk before, and it's still not terribly loud.

"Hey, dude," Quenby says, and taps some kid on the shoulder. "Move over a little please." He turns around, cranks his head back to meet with Quenby's stern blue eyes, and promptly squishes closer to his friend. Ashleigh squeezes up to stand on the bleacher where the kid would sit, and zooms her iphone camera about as close as she can to take a picture of her boyfriend and her little brother standing next to each other on the sidelines. Her brother Jordan is surprisingly as tall or taller than Darius, almost wider, numbers 66 and 32.

We're all crowded into the bleachers of the home stadium (my first time here. Legitly.), Ashleigh and Quenby on my right, Scarlett and Farida on the left. It's the final quarter of the game and we're tied with the Bulldogs, 20 to 20. The entire stadium has been a mess, screaming themselves hoarse about things I don't understand (like what the fuck is a 'horse-collar'? What does it have to do with high school football?), screaming cheers whenever something good happens, heckling out insults to the referees, to the opposing players,to  the other fans...
