"So I was wondering if you're going to Amber's party next weekend?"
In translation that meant that someone was looking for a quick safe shag. I turned around smiling at the guy. It took me minutes before I recognized him, mostly because I've rarely seen him play. "Hey Zayeer," I greeted, a little surprised, he was a year younger than us. "Um, I don't think I'm going."
"Is it the leg?" He asked. He took my books away from me, helping me carry them. I smiled gratefully.
"Yeah. I've got a doctors appointment on Friday."
Zayeer nodded, "So would you go out with me, if it wasn't on a friday?"
I glanced at him. He had a little mustache, but the rest of his facial hair hadn't kicked in yet. His dark hair was gelled back, one straight strand falling into his forehead. His forehead was a little long, but he had the prettiest eyes I'd ever seen. I'd never been out with him and curiosity urged me to give him a chance. "Maybe, depends on what we're doing?"
I began walking to my class, Zayeer following me. "A movie on Thursday evening?" Zayeer asked.
I smiled, "Sounds good."
"Great, I'll pick you up at 7?"
"It's a date."
He left me at the door to my class, a grin on his face. Maybe it's been a little too long since I've been on a date, but I found I was still smiling long after he'd left.
