Ryder's POV//
"Mackenzie" I sigh, again trying to get her to sit down.
She has been pacing the room for the last hour and won't sit down.
"Babe" I sigh standing up and wrapping my arms around her waist.
She stops in her tracks and turns around to face me.
"Calm down, please" I beg tightening my grip
She slowly nods her head before walking with me over to a nearby seat.
I sit down and then she gently sits down on my lap. She rests her head on mine.
"I hate hospitals" I groan wrapping my arms around her tiny waist
"Why?" She asks looking at me
"too many bad memories" I sigh leaning back in the chair.
"I'm tired" Mackenzie complains leaning on my shoulder
"Then sleep babygirl" I reassure rubbing her back.
After about 5 minutes, Mackenzie's eyes are shut and she's peacefully sleeping.

Mackenzie's POV//
I feel a light vibration under my head, when i open my eyes i'm sat across Ryder's lap with my head rested on his shoulder.
Ryder was fast asleep, his mouth parted slightly.
What woke me was his phone vibrating in his pocket rapidly. I softly move from his grip and grab his phone from the table beside him.
I pick up his phone and read the name flashing across the screen.
Rachel!
I click accept and press the phone to my ear.
"Ryder! Where are you sweetie?! You left suddenly in the middle of our conversation and you haven't come back or contacted me yet!" An unfamiliar female voice cries into the phone.
"Um, hello. Im Mackenzie, Ryder's friend" I nervously speak into the phone
"Oh, hello, I'm Rachel. Ryder's new foster mom. Do you by any chance know where he is?" Rachel chuckles
"We're actually at the hospital waiting for results on my brother. Ryder was helping me get him to the hospital earlier and has been waiting with me all day" I chuckle back nervously
"Oh how sweet" Rachel gushes, "Is he still with you?"
"Yes m'am. He's actually asleep right now. We still haven't gotten an update so we're still waiting"
"Well it seems quite important to him so i'm not going to force him to come home, don't wake him because of me."
"I'll tell him to head home when he wakes up"
"No,no,no honey. It's already 2:30 in the morning, I'll let him stay. Hope your brother is ok"
"Thanks"
"Bye honey"
"Bye"
"Who was that?" Ryder groans, waking from his before peaceful slumber
"Rachel" I sigh handing him his phone
"Does she want me back home?" He grains standing from his seat and stretching his arms
"No, she said you could stay and wants you to check in in the morning" I smile walking over to him
"It's already morning" He laughs checking the time
"When your done here" I laugh back handing him his phone.
"Well then it might be a while" He sighs sitting back down in his chair.
I take the chair next to him just as we see a doctor emerge from the doors to our left.
"The family of Marcus Waters?" He announces
Me and Ryder stand up and walk over to him.
"He's ok" The doctor smiles, "We stabilized him"
"Why was he seizing then?" I ask confused
"He had a brain injury we were un-aware of, we have him on some meds that should prevent any more seizures and any brain aneurisms" He sighs
"Can we go see him?" Ryder asks placing his hand on my waist
"Of course"
