Prologue
It was the year 1919. A young man and his wife approached the adoption agencies desk. "Can I help you?" A preppy woman asked.
"Yes, we have a meeting set up," the man said.
She smiled at them, "name?"
"Barnes."

This story is dedicated to the U.S. military.
Personally, I was raised in the Air Force, and my dad retired after about twenty years. So, I have an enormous appreciation for our military. Additionally, since this story has Captain America in it, I thought it would be a fitting dedication.
Also, all rights go to Marvel.
This began as just a simple exercise for me to better my writing skills. As you can see, (if you have read the unedited version) I needed a whole lot of help. Thank you for your patience in all of this, et Benedicat Deus!
