You inhaled the fresh coffee smell as you opened the glass door to your favorite coffee shop. You came here every morning and every other night.

“Hey (Y/N)! How are ya, dear?”

“Hi Marco! I’m great, thanks! How are Mindy and the kids?”

“Driving me bonkers as ever, but they’re all very well. The usual this morning?”

“You betcha!” You said with a smile as you handed him your pay card. You heard the bell above the front door ring and a few girls at the table in the back of the shop squeal a little. You turned your head to see what the fuss was about, but you were only met with an unfamiliar face. A curly headed, tall, greened boy in ripped skinny jeans and a pair of wore out dress boots. He was handsome no doubt, but you weren’t drooling over him. It wasn’t like you had never seen a hot guy before. You shrugged it off and grabbed your card back from Marco before heading to your usual table and waited for your coffee and slice of banana nut bread. You reached in your bag and pulled out your favorite book that you’ve read countless times. Minutes felt like hours as you read page after page. You didn’t realize how lost in the book you got until you were brought out of your phase when Marco set your coffee on the table in front of you.

“Reading that book again, (Y/N)?” You just shrugged at him. He smiled and walked away shaking his head. You smiled and turned away from him only to see the boy who had walked in early looking at you. He blushed that you caught him staring and quickly looked back down at his smart phone. He was two tables away and facing your direction. You raised an eyebrow wondering, but shook it off and began eating and reading again, once again getting lost in the story. You were just getting into your favorite part when the screeching of a chair distracted you. You looked up from your book too see the curly boy taking a seat in front of you.

“H-Hi.” He said with a shy smile. “Mind if I sit here?” You sat there looking at him for a second before you shook your head. He sat down and intertwined his finger together in front of him on the table.

“I’m Harry.”

“Nice to meet you Harry.” You said looking back at your book. “So…do I get to know your name?” You sighed knowing you weren’t going to be getting any more reading done.

“It’s (Y/N).”

“Hmm. (Y/N). I like that name.”

“Umm. Thanks.” You said tucking a strand of loose hair behind your ear.

“So, I’m guessing you come in here often?”

“What made you think that?”

“They treat you like family here.” He said with a chuckle.

“It’s my escape. Plus the owner’s wife makes really good banana nut bread.” You said popping piece into your mouth. “Here,” You pushed your plate towards him, “ try some.” He smiled and gladly took a piece.

“Oh wow. That is really good.” You two talked for a couple more hours. About the band he’s in, some of your favorite books and music, and a little about your likes and dislikes. You caught a glimpse of the clock and panicked a little bit. You promised your mum you’d be home soon.

“Oh shoot. I have to get going. It’s already almost noon.” You put your book into your bag and began cleaning up your table.

“Wait! Would you, umm, maybe want to get a cup of coffee sometime?” You couldn’t help, but to start laughing.

“Didn’t we just have coffee together?”

“Oh, umm, right. Sorry, I’m terrible at this.” He said rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

“How about this?” You said grabbing his hand and a pen from your bag. You quickly scribbled your number on his palm as you held the pen cap in between your teeth.

“There ya go! It was nice meeting you, Harry!” You said as you headed towards the door.

“Yeah, you too, (Y/N).” You turned to give him one last look only to see him smiling and looking down at your number on his hand.
