Hey baes! So this is gonna be the last chapter until October 5th when I'll start to write chapter 15. The reason is simple— I'm having National exams in less than 2 weeks and I'm going to work my ass off for it to get the marks I want. Meanwhile, you guys can check out other author's books or reread the chapters. I will still reply to comments and be online but I will not write. So that's that.

Also, a big THANK YOU to TheKarellaya for designing the most beautiful cover of all times for the second book in this series. Yes, there will be a second book BUT it's only gonna come out next year when I'm done with this one. Thanks K! 😚❤♥

Not to forget, thank you all, my lovely readers, because we have conquered 2 FREAKING K together!!!! ILYGSFM❤❤❤❤❤

See you all next time!!

Love,
Jacee 😚😚

Chapter 14:

Déjà Vu

˝So we were— we were invited to a party at Nathan's house,˝ he started off, taking deep breaths with hiccups bubbling up every now and then, ˝The three of us— Eddie, Andrew and I. We were best buddies.˝

He smiled sadly, his gaze dropping to the floor of the car as he said those two words. He shook his head, shooting me a crooked grin. But his eyes were still red and tears welled up in them, telling a total different story than he was trying to. I stroked the back of his hand with my thumb gently, smiling slightly in encouragement to continue.

˝There... There was this girl called Crescent,˝ he whispered, his voice going hoarse, ˝She was new at our school and she met me first. So she asked me to— to date her. I refused, but she insisted that it would help the both of us so we tried it out.˝

The tears threatened to roll down his cheeks as he took another huge gulp of air, ˝We tried but broke up after two weeks because she finally understood that I already... I already had this beautiful girl in my heart. Turns out, she liked Drew.˝

Cars zoomed passed us as we talked and headlights flashed at us as some of the drivers took a turn at the T-junction. Chase looked down guiltily at his feet and spoke in a much softer voice than before.

˝Both Eddie and Drew had fallen for her.˝

Unable to help it anymore, a tear escaped from his sockets and landed like a raindrop on the driver's seat. Just like a drizzle, the others followed suit.

˝So all four of us got invited to the party. And... And... We knew that Nathan's parties were full of spiked drinks, but we still went,˝ he cried, wiping away the river of tears on his face even though it was useless.

˝So somebody spiked Eddie's drink. And Crescent and Drew's too,˝ he stopped to take yet another deep breath, ˝I was the designated driver, so I didn't take a single drink, brownie or piece of food. When it was getting late, I found the tipsy-tospy couple and decided to bring them home first because I couldn't find Eddie.˝

He raised his hands to his hair and tugged the locks frustratedly, ˝Some chick told me he was with her friend! I should have known... I should have f*ckin' known she was the one that drugged him! But I was so focused on getting the couple back first then coming back to get Eddie that I didn't realise what that fake bitch was doing!˝
