Chapter 13

It's been days since Jay told me I was a Mist werewolf and to be quite frank I was scared as hell. I'd still had my doubt about the whole dilemma but I'd had no other choice but to believe him, it was my only option. Even when I'd only just shifted into a werewolf and now I'm some kind of special one, not that my life could be more chaotic but that hallucination from a lady that came to me when I was in excruciating pain. I had come down to the local library down town, only because Jay wouldn't tell me anything about Mist werewolves I decided to find out myself

Standing outside the old building, it looked nearly a hundred years old, probably older. The brick surrounding the building were growing vines around every visible piece, criss crossing each other like a road map even the colour was fading slowly. I pushed past the ugly exterior and made my way up the steps, opening the front door - the smell of old books and tea, scanning the room there were only a few people in here. An old lady shifting slowly through the bookshelves , her white hair covering her face, there was also a young girl here her large round glasses framing her small face. I carried on walking to the front desk where an old lady sat, her grey hair visible under that horrible purple dye of hers and her red lipstick was smudged across her cracked lips

"Hi" I smiled

"Afternoon Deary" she chirped happily

"I'm here for books on werewolf mythology " I mumbled quietly

"Right this way" the old lady stood out from her small desk and walked into the small office behind the counter

I scurried behind her seeing as the old bat moved quickly, werewolves can do that to you but you would have never guessed she was a werewolf because of how she looked but I could sense it from the scent surrounding her. I learnt to tell the difference between humans and werewolves because a human scent was fainter, almost undetectable. We stopped at a few bookshelf in the room and the lady reached out and grabbed a little elf figurine from the shelf and pressed it down, the shelf it was sitting on rumbled and elevated down. Behind the shelf was a dark hallway where torches on either side of the grey, gloomy walls were lit

The old lady smiled at me and pushed me forward a bit, I caught my fall and suddenly the shelf disappeared before me, I looked ahead my legs shaking at the eerie scene. The hallway was dark and cold and the only light in here was the few torches lighting the way to the end of the tunnel where a large grey sealed door sat. I walked slowly looking around every second to catch glimpses of my shadow

I made it to the door and pushed it open with ease, surprised by how easy it was, the door looked like it weighed a tonne but I guess things never seem what they appear to be. I stepped into the room and my mouth hung open, the inside was polished and extarvagent, it was two stories high surrounded with red leather couches, a great big marble desk in the very centre of the room with a giant chandeleier hovering above. The room went on for miles with books and paintings hanging all over the room. A circle of knowledge about werewolves, their ancestry, their families, everything. I didn't know where to start so I went to the computer sitting in the very center if the room. Typing key words the computer hadover a hundred searches. I started with Jay's family history

It took me hours and it seemed like I'd looked thorough every book in the library about Mist werewolves and they all ended with the same thing, nothing because none of them ever say what happens to the werewolf afterwards. I slammed the last book shut when I heard the door open. I panicked and froze when I heard it and climbed slowly to the edge of the second floor panel, something didn't feel right, I peeked my head over the railing and saw nothing, I sat there confused when I heard a throat clear form behind me, I jumped and hit whoever it was with the book I was holding but unfortunately it failed when the person grabbed my wrist, the familiar touch caused me to open my eyes and stumbled back when Riley caught my hand
