Sweet whispers
Turn the blankets over, I ain't gonna be sleeping there tonight.
I work late hours, I'm tired, I know this ain't right.
Maybe you can go out with the guys, just keep me back of your mind.
Someday we will get things right, as long as the past is kept behind.
Not many guys get the kind of freedom I give to you.
Not many guys will go on being true.
All I ask Is never break the trust we have between us.
I just hope the love I give to you is enough.
I hope what I am doing is not wrong.
Trust was never an issue, that is what keeps me so strong.
Sweet whispers, in the long wee hours of the night.
I tuck myself in between the covers, but your nowhere in sight.
Tossing and turning, I get up to pour myself a glass of wine.
Maybe your out there, somewhere doing time.
I was loving you too much, wasn't thinking about how you feel.
Maybe your intensions were not real.
I just wasn't thinking about how you were feeling.
Sweet whispers in the night.
Time to turn down the lights.
