Our story begins sometime after the infamous Kalos Crisis. Our 15 year protagonist, Ash Ketchum, is about to board the plane to Kanto.
Ash: "All right buddy, about time we head on home."

As Ash says goodbye to the Citron siblings, he and Pikachu get on the plane, they then reminisce of their journey so far. All the new Pokémon, friends, the rivals, and the evil teams. Ash however, knew this journey wasn't over yet, thinking about giving road to a master one more try.
