I am so exhausted as I got back home really late last night, I'm already on my second cup of coffee this morning, I've been up since 5:30. I barely have the time to sleep anymore, between working at the restaurant and my job at the gym and taking care of my nine year old brother.
"Morning Sam" Max says bringing me out of my thoughts, "We're late", I respond.. "Well, it's not like I'm ever early to school, I'm sure Mrs Goldberg doesn't mind anymore; he says as he starts eating his cereal. "Either way, hurry up". My brother has done a lot of growing up over the years and I can't blame him though, he's gone through more than any average nine year old has.
"Are you going to pick me up from school today?" he asks. "No buddy, I'd ask Mrs Dohan to pick you up, and then I'd just get you from there on my way back from work". "Is that okay?" I ask, even it's not, I really have no choice but go to work if we want to eat and keep this house a little while longer.
