I should have done better keeping Max safe. If anything happened to him, I literally was going to die. Kayden was driving us to Sarah, Jones was out of town so it was just Sarah.

We pulled over at Jones and Sarah's, she was outside talking to the police when she saw me, she ran over

"Sam, I'm so sorry. You trusted me with him and I lost him" she said crying

"What happened?" I asked her, I sounded way more composed like I had not just lost my brother. I didn't know how to act, I couldn't even cry. I just needed to find my brother and then cry later.

"We went out for ice cream and I just turned for a moment and he was gone, I looked everywhere but couldn't find him" Sarah said

It had to be Richard or maybe Zach. I didn't know anything at this point. My phone beeped pulling me out of my thoughts, it was a text from Richard

"Meet me at the Wolfstreet warehouse alone, if you want your brother alive"  I read it and ran towards the car.

"Sam where are you going?" Kayden asked behind me

"I have to go" and with that I was gone, I arrived at the warehouse fifteen minutes after. I was barefooted now, and grateful that my dress had a slit which made it easier to move. I  reached for my phone to let him know I was here and alone but I couldn't find it, I checked the car and there was no sign of it.

I headed towards the entrance of the warehouse. Everywhere was dark, the only sign of light was coming from my car's headlight.

"Richard?" I called. There was no answer so I just kept moving until I saw him. He was sitting on a chair with a gun in his hand like he was waiting for me.Max was nowhere in sight.

"Where's my brother?" I asked. I was panicking now, but I knew one wrong move and it was over

"He's safe, don't worry" He said as he was standing up

"Why are you doing this?" Why did you kill them?" I was crying now

"Believe it or not it wasn't supposed to get to this point, if she had just left with Max and I" He said

"Max?" I asked him totally confused now

"Yes, he's my son" he responded.
