Remus scrambled away from the Astronomy Tower, Firewhisky tucked into his armpit as he attempted on buttoning up his shirt. Given his situation, he should have been more careful, but he didn't realize it until it was too late.

He had run into something, getting knocked back onto his butt, the Firewhisky tumbling out, nearly smashing if he hadn't caught it last minute. He looked up, ready to be scolded by a Prefect or Professor, but his brain malfunctioned.

James, Sirius, and Peter were on their bottoms, half concealed by James's invisibility cloak. They stared at Remus with wide eyes. They never thought they would run into Remus after curfew. Usually, he was running with them.

They took in Remus's disheveled appearance. He had no robe, his shirt was unbuttoned, his hair was messy, and there was a bottle of Firewhisky in his hand.

"Moony - "

"Sorry," said Remus, interrupting Sirius.

Remus couldn't look at them any longer. His eyes darted to the floor, finding solace in the cracks and dirt. Sirius was in pain. He had done that to Remus, one of his best friends, all for selfish reasons. He thought he was helping the Marauders, but he made it worse for Remus. Sirius broke him and he loathed himself for it.

It had taken a while for James to forgive Sirius, but he knew Sirius did it for them. Peter was just glad to have his friends back, even if one was still missing. Remus had yet to forgive them, even after weeks of avoiding and ignoring them. Even in their dorm, Remus wouldn't talk to them.

The sounds of fast footsteps came from both behind Remus and the other Marauders. They looked at both ends of the corridor. Remus threw the Firewhisky to Sirius and scrambled up to his feet.

"Hide that," demanded Remus.

"Remus?"

He turned around to be met with Gracelyn, fully-dressed and carrying a folded Gryffindor robe in her arms. Once she walked closer, he gently tugged her toward the Marauders.

"Walk her back to her tower," demanded Remus before covering all four with the invisibility cloak.

"Mr. Lupin, what are you doing here?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"Sorry, Professor, I needed fresh air," he lied.

"In the Astronomy Tower?" she questioned.

"Stars look lovely up here," he replied.

She sighed, shaking her head. "Off you go please. No dilly-dallying."

"Yes, Professor."

He glanced over at his shoulder to an invisible spot before walking away. Professor McGonagall looked around before walking back.

The boys all looked at Gracelyn, finally paying attention to the Ravenclaw shoved underneath James's invisibility cloak.

"Hi?" she questioned.
