Gracelyn and Sage were late for dinner in the Great Hall. They knew that but that didn't stop Sage from pressing Gracelyn against the wall and kissing there and then.

Gracelyn was shocked but allowed the kiss to happen. Just like Remus, she knew that Sage simply wanted to kiss at certain times. Who was Gracelyn to deny her best friend of relieving herself when she was so clearly stressed about her O.W.L.s and her Pure-blood parents? Gracelyn was a pleaser.

Meanwhile, Remus was late because he ran out of chocolate bars that were usually stored in his pockets because he was immensely stressed about the upcoming O.W.L.s. His brain couldn't handle trying to memorize any more stars in the night sky for the Astronomy O.W.L. He had ran back up into his dorm to grab more chocolate, thus causing him to be late.

He definitely didn't expect to come across Sage pressing his ex-fling against a wall with their lips connected. He didn't even know Gracelyn was into girls. He winced at the thought of being less jealous of a girl kissing her rather than a boy. It was a stupid thought - he knew that, but he still thought it.

He didn't even realize his feet had planted onto the ground beneath him. His eyes were glued onto the couple with his mouth parted in shock. He didn't expect her to find someone else within a week of them breaking off their agreement.

Right, it was a simple agreement, so he should have been so hurt. He couldn't help but clear his throat, mentally smacking himself for making a sound.

Sage and Gracelyn broke apart to see Remus straightening his robes, looking down at the ground as he walked toward the Great Hall.

The flicker of sadness in Gracelyn's eyes and the slightly furrowed in eyebrows didn't fly by Sage. She knew Gracelyn was sad about Remus, but she didn't quite realize how attached Gracelyn had gotten to him.

"Hey," whispered Sage, "it's all right. You're allowed to be sad. We can even stop this thing we have going on and I won't be angry."

"I - But you've been so stressed and this is a good way to release stress," she retorted.

Sage sighed and brushed her hand against Gracelyn's cheek. "What you need is more important than what I want. It's decided then. We'll call this off. It's been a fun week."

"Are we still friends?"

"Gracie, we'll be friends until the day we both die," promised Sage.
