Gracelyn was freaking out. She liked Remus - of course, she did. She knew that, but she didn't think she would smell him. At least, she assumed it was him because he was always reading and eating chocolate.
She was resting by the lake with Emmeline, Dorcas, Sage, and Lily. The girls were playing around, occasionally splashing water on each other or talking about boys.
"I smelled Remus," Gracelyn blurted out.
"Congrats?" Sage questioned.
"No, no, I mean, Professor Slughorn did a demonstration for Amortentia, and I smelled Remus in it."
"Oh... Sounds like a problem."
"I don't think it's a problem," chimed Lily. "You like him and I'm bloody sure he likes you too. Just break the thing off with Wood. I'm sure he's made his crush jealous enough, which I will say again: is a horrible way to get a girl to like you. Honestly, what was he thinking?"
"Tobias has never been smart," Gracelyn defended. "Attractive and talented at quidditch, but not smart. I'm sure I can break it off with him. Did you know we're neighbors?"
Emmeline shrugged. "You two already made up. Just break off the agreement with Wood and go from there."
"That doesn't mean get into another kissing agreement with Remus," Lily scolded.
"I - I wasn't planning on that," Gracelyn muttered.
The girls all looked at each other, unimpressed, causing Gracelyn to cross her arms over her chest and pout.
"I swear I wasn't," she added. "I'm going to go find him right now."
"Now?" Sage asked.
"I have nothing better to do."
"You were hanging out with us!" Dorcas exclaimed.
"Exactly."
Dorcas and Lily simultaneously splashed water onto Gracelyn, causing her to yelp and narrow her eyes at them.
"You two asked for it!"
She splashed water onto the two, and with water never having a specific directional pull, it splashed onto Emmeline and Sage as well. Soon enough, all of the girls were involved in it.
Once they were finally exhausted and damp, Gracelyn bid farewell to them and started her mission on finding Remus. She was normally a patient - but rash - person, but the feeling of her damp clothes sticking only slightly to her warm body was making her uncomfortable. She didn't call it giving up, but she did stop looking for Remus only twenty minutes into her search for him. She decided she would talk to him tomorrow, and walked off into the direction of the baths.
