SENECA, S.C. - Two Upstate teenagers are in custody, accused of shooting a woman during a burglary and leaving her with life-threatening injuries. Seneca police were called Thursday to a home on Maple Avenue about a burglary. Officers learned a woman who lived in the home had been taken by ambulance to the hospital, where doctors determined she had been shot multiple times. The woman's injuries were described as critical and potentially fatal. She remains in an intensive care unit.

Police said they found a point of forced entry and several shell casings from a small-caliber handgun. Criminal investigations division detectives said they identified Decota Brown, 19, and Hunter Lee Hunnicutt, 17, of Seneca, as the suspects in the shooting.

They are being charged with first-degree burglary and attempted murder. Hunnicutt was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. Friday without incident. Officers said Brown was arrested Saturday at a convenience store on Clemson Boulevard without incident.
