"Is this really neccessary," Shyrah asked me with a huff. "Yes," I answered with a nod. "We need to ensure you are still okay." "I feel, fine isn't that enough," she asked me. I gave a soft growl, "Do no argue with me when it comes to your health." She sighed, "Yes ma'am." I waited outside the infirmary while she met with the doctor. It was a long wait, and with each passing second I became more and more anxious.

When the doctor let me into the room, I could tell from Shyrah's face it wasn't good. "How bad is it," I asked the doctor. "For the most part she is fine and healthy. However, her heartbeat is irregular due to the stress it's been under because of her mate," she explained to me. "I fear, that if her heart continues to go under this much stress, whether it's from her mate or other sources, she could have a heart attack, and because of the amount of stress it's been under, her heart may not be able to survive that."

"What do you recommend," I asked her. "To put distance between her and her mate, and find someone willing to mate with her to increase her chances. Unfortunately, the damages have already been done, and can't be reversed. I can prescribe a heart medication to try and help strengthen it, but there isn't much outside of what I've already told you, that can be done," the doctor informed me. "Or you can find her mate and get him to accept her or get him to stop until she finds a new mate."

If we told him he was killing her, he may be proud of himself, I thought with a soft growl, and I refuse to let him come anywhere near her so that last part was out of the question. "We'll figure something out mommy," Shyrah said to me. "I'm gonna be fine." We left the doctor's and she went to go find her sisters while I went to cool off. The babies were with our parents since all of the others had meetings today. Except Qin. He didn't have meetings.

I sensed him in the training room so I went and changed before joining him. "How did it go," he asked me. "I want to hunt the fucker down and rip him to pieces," I said with a soft growl. His eyebrows shot up at how I had spoken, but didn't care. One of my pups was in danger, and there wasn't much I could do. I told him what the doctor told me.

"So since the babies aren't here right now, I thought I'd come to work off my anger before the rest of our mates get finished with their duties for the day," I said to him. He nodded, "Care to spar?" I nodded, "I'd love too."

We went at it for a while till he managed to get me on my back, with him on top, his face inches from mine. Both of us were panting, covered in sweat. "Feel better," he asked me. "A little," I answered. He helped me to my feet, "Let's go get a shower." He laced his fingers with mine as we walked back to our room.

We just got into our room when Nathaniel came in, undoing his tie. "How did the appointment go," he asked me. "I'll have Qin explain it, because if I do, I'm gonna get riled up again," I said before going into the bathroom.

"We had to spar till she was calmed down enough," I heard Qin say before he began to explain it to Nathaniel. "Now we're going to shower," Qin said. "Care to join us?"

"I'd love too," Nathaniel said. Soon the two were in the bathroom, undressed. "You're looking a little over dressed," Nathaniel commented to me. I hadn't undressed since I had been getting the water ready and then got distracted by them coming into the bathroom. "Maybe you should help me fix that," I said to him. As Nathaniel's hands began to remove my shorts, Qin took my hair down.

Once I was undressed we stepped into the shower, the jets in the wall feeling great against my back. "We'll figure it out," Nathaniel said to us and I wished I had his poise. He has always been able to act calm, unless it was Pyrus getting him riled up. "We always do," Qin said with a sad sigh.

After we washed and got out, we found the rest of our mates in the room talking. "What did the doctor say," Cindy asking, eyes filled with worry. I told them what the doctor said and tears filled her eyes. Pyrus growled and bared his canines, "We should've fucking hunted him down." "Can a demonic contract be done to reverse the damages," Shelton asked me. "I don't know. Magic hasn't been able to affect anything caused by the mate bond before so I'm not sure," I answered with a shrug. Shelton nodded, "I think it's best you both go back sooner than expected to allow her to put distance from her mate."

Qin and Pyrus nodded. Qin then went to the closet to get dressed. "Qin, when we rejected you and had sex with each other, did we put you through this," Cindy asked him. We all tensed at her question. He was silent for a few moments. "It's in the past and I've already forgiven you," he answered. He came out of the closet wearing his jeans, his fly opened still, shirt in hand. "Everything happens for a reason. Shyrah will become stronger because of this, and she will be happier in the end."

"How will she become happier," Drake asked him. "Because she knows what true suffering is and will cherish the gift of happiness she's been granted," I answered instead and Qin nodded. "I'll go tell her she'll be soon leaving," I said before leaving the room.

I found her in her room, listening to music. She took out her ear buds, "What's up?" "We thinks it's best you go with Qin and Pyrus to the island to put distance between you and your mate," I said while sitting on her bed. She nodded, "I see." "I just want to know, is he human," I asked her. She shook her head and I cursed silently. "We hope you find someone to mate with before he comes to the island so you don't have to go through this pain anymore." "I want what you and the rest of my parents have, and I doubt I can find that in such short amount of time," she confessed to me.

I smiled softly, "It was only a couple of months for us to form what we have. I met Cindy, Pyrus, Nathaniel, and Drake on their way back from a concert while Shelton had to stay home to handle some paperwork. I was walking, in the rain, when they drove past me, splashing me. They stopped immediately and forced me to go home with them to make up for it. I was so terrified they were going to reject me for being a half breed. We were together for only a couple of months before we mated. Then when your father was bound to us, I accepted him immediately because I know what it's like being rejected because of something not your fault. We have had our ups and downs, mostly after we already mated, and those experiences have helped us become strong. It's going to take time, but I promise it will be worth it." She nodded and I kissed her cheek before helping her pack.
