"All preparations are done?" Elise asked while Louis helped her braid her hair.

"Yes. Frankly, there's no need for you to go as well after..." Louis was silent as a shadow darkened his eyes without bothering to finish his sentence. She could feel the hesitation through his hands and she smiled guiltily.

She had only told them that she had coughed up blood earlier but, she could feel the dread that coursed through the whole household when she told them about it.

Louis was distraught the most and pleaded for her not to push herself anymore. Fred also panicked and asked that he'll do the house duties himself so she doesn't have to work.

Albert gritted his teeth in frustration and Moran looked away, knowing that words of comforts are no use. Moneypenny was also present at that time and she could not help but cry quietly.

Only William appeared calm in front of them and told them that the cure will be created before it gets worse. Though, his right fist was trembling on his side. He is actually the one who is most worried and terrified for what has happened.

Seeing everyone worried and more terrified than her made her smile a little at seeing how they really care. But it also pained her heart to see their faces like that.

Of course, it's scary to know that her illness has escalated to that but she had to put her faith on the one who is making her medicine: Sherlock Holmes.

Funny that a consulting detective is the one making the medicine.

"Louis-nii-sama, it will be all right." She looked at him through the mirror in front of her and patted his hand that was on her hair. "Besides, Lady Cecilia of the Winstein house was the one who sent the invitation as well. I don't want to disappoint that child."

"If you say so, sister..."

Elise turned around to face him and held his hand. "Onii-sama, please don't be so down. I'll be extra careful now because I don't want everyone to worry any further. I know I'm a stubborn woman but I do not wish to just sit idly and wait for my cure."

She gave his hand a light squeeze. "It'll be all right. I won't lie."

Louis pursed his lips in worry before letting out a sigh. "I know. But, the only thing that I can do is trust you and nii-san. He said that he'll create the cure for you and I know nii-san can do it."

"I can't tell him that Holmes-san is the one making my medicine now with William's approval..." She thought before facing the mirror again.

He finally finished her braid and she smiled at his finished work.

"It's beautiful. Thank you, Louis-nii-sama."

He smiled in appreciation. "You're welcome. But, no matter what hairstyle you adorn, you are still beautiful, Elise."

"Fufufu. I suppose." She giggled softly before finally attaching the mask over her eyes. "Now then... shall we get going?"

The venue for the masquerade ball is held in the Buckingham Palace. In the Moriarty family, it is usually the eldest who attends these gatherings as the representative or sometimes he is accompanied by their youngest sister.
