Chapter 30: Admit

Soooo yeah, I've read some comments regarding the Japanese VA for Elise and yeah, I gotta admit I'm torn between Saori Hayami and Kana Hanazawa but then again, female seiyuus have great ranges.

Honestly, I don't want to go through certain manga chapters because it still hurts rereading it. T-T

William had begun investigating Milverton after Elise told him her hunches about him being the mastermind. They all had suspicions of him previously and after Fred had collected enough information about him, he is found out to be someone who enjoys creating chaos.

"But a man such as him... I could only think that there are risk in eliminating him." Elise says after Fred's report was read out loud.

Louis nodded in agreement. "Elise is right. The risk is high this time around. According to Fred's research, if Milverton dies, he's instructed all of his papers to publish "certain information" in an article and spread it...."

His next words caused the atmosphere in the room to be deadly serious.

"That "William James Moriarty" is the "Lord of Crime"."

Elise's expression was stony, but the way she held her hands together shows her worries. "There's no clear evidence, but, what's on the paper will be considered as the truth by the masses. We already have the Lord of Crimes as the country's enemy, and if the real identity is revealed..."

They all saw her point and gravely nodded in understanding.

"This is clearly to block an assassination attempt on our part." Louis adds after setting the paper down.

"To get rid of that risk, we need to kill Milverton and crush the newspapers on this list in one go." Albert says while reading the list of publication houses that were involved.

However, if put that way, just to prevent the spread of information, they'd have to kill innocent people that were only following orders. Of course, that option is a no-go.

William even said it out loud.

"It's possible for us to do that, but I would never choose that option." His voice was in monotone as he continued. "I'll kill Milverton whether my name spreads or not."

He was serious about it but she could see how his eyes drooped a little but she said nothing. William stood from his seat before continuing. "As Louis said, this mission will carry unprecedented risks. But I can't keep Milverton alive for much longer. Let's take action as soon as we are ready."

"...Nii-san..." The younger blond looked at his older brother.

"...You knew this was coming, Louis. It was going to happen sooner or later." He faced him with a small smile, yet the emptiness in his eyes remained unnoticed except for certain people. "It's all according to the Moriarty Plan."

William's eyes flickered upon seeing Elise tighten her fist. He then glanced at Albert, who only looked back at him with serious eyes. Before anyone could notice, they kept their calm expression as William continued to explain that they need to obtain information about Milverton's future meetings and his location.

After that meeting, everyone went to their separate ways, with most of them out for the night or some had already retired to bed. Louis stepped out of his room when he felt that he could not sleep at the hour.

He recalled that after everyone left, William approached Albert and the two left for a private conversation. At that time, Louis could see how serious and also slightly grim their expressions were.
