LOUSY COP
The group sprinted to the car, Pope was panting followed by Lexie, Kiara sat still in her seat, not moving. "Can someone fill me in on what the frick just happened?" JJ yelled, slamming his fist on the seat.
Lexie stayed looking forward grabbing onto JJ's hand to calm him down.
"holy crap, i can't believe it" JJ huffed, "wait wait, what were they fighting over?" Lexie asked, mainly Pope.
"uh - it was - it was gun, the one Rafe used. He must of kept it" Pope stuttered.
"if course! of course! the murder weapon!" JJ shouted again.
"pick up pick up" The group turned to Kiara as she was freaking out in the front trying to call someone. "who are you calling Kie?" Lexie asked. "who do you think?" Kiara shouted as tears poured from her eyes.
"the cops?" Pope shouted to her. "who else am i supposed to call?" She shouted at him. "why would you call the police?" JJ shouted. Pope just stared at the girl with disgust.
JJ and Kiara went back and forth shouting, "Shut up!" Lexie yelled, causing them to stop and look at her. But before Lexie could say anything a 'hello?' came from the phone.
Kiara immediately started talking, "hello? Hi, somebody's been shot at the - at the Grand Street construction site!" Lexie huffed back in her seat.
"ma'am?" the man spoke on the line.
"You guys need to hurry because he is dying, i don't know if he is already dead or not!" she shouted, Kiara went on telling them to hurry while crying.
Pope looked defeated, " we gotta go, we re sitting ducks" JJ said freaking out. "we can't stay here Kie" Lexie said to the girl. "we need to go" Pope said turning to her.
"what do you want me to do?" Kiara said crying. "just drive!" Pope said back.

Lexie zoned out, she was pissed off because Kiara drove them back to the site to talk to Shoupe. Lexie leant against one of the beams just staring at the ground.
"look it was right here, and this is where the manic claimed his next victim right there" Kiara said pointing the ground.
"huh uh - his next victim?" Shoupe questioned, not believing them. "yeah" Kiara said like it was obvious.
"right how long ago did you say it happened?" Shoupe asked. Lexie looked over to see JJ kneeling on the ground, "forty five minutes ago Shoupe" JJ said standing back up.
"okay" he said writing down in his notepad. "so, Ward Cameron, just popped one off and shot him" Shoupe replied to them.
"yes" Kiara huffed. "execution style? and then cleaned it all up in 45 minutes?" He went on.
"yeah" Kiara said looking at Pope. "Obviously" he said back. "we filmed the entire thing" Kiara said, Lexie sighed at looked up at the stars through the open roof.
"you filmed it?" Shoupe asked. "yes but we can't show it because Pope fell and landed on it and because it is a piece of shit it broke - " Kiara rambled on.
"this is a telephoto and we needed to get long distance image, and - and - and i fell and it broke, basically unusable" Pope said expressionless at Shoupe.
JJ stood back to next to Lexie, "you good?" he whispered to her, she lowered her head to look at him, she nodded her head avoiding his eye contact, JJ knew she wasn't, he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her in closer to him, she let out a sigh and rested her head on his shoulder.
"so the dog ate your homework" Shoupe said. "i don't know what you kids expect me to do with this, you drag me out here in the middle of the night for a whole lot of nothing, expect for some crazy stories." Shoupe said angrily.
Lexie chuckled at him, gaining his attention. "you know your a pretty lousy cop" She said. "excuse me" Shoupe asked. Lexie stepped forward moving from JJ's grasp, "Lex-" he said but was cut off and ignored.
"you are a lousy cop" she said pausing between the words. "I thought having a witness is pretty good evidence with solving murders? but clearly not in this town" Lexie said with an attitude.
"Alexis" Shoupe started. "No because i told you what happened on the tarmac" Lexie started to get mad now, raising her voice. "I was there, not only was i there but i was shot too! and apparently a wound isn't enough for you! Sarah Cameron also told you and all the other feds what happened, even though it was her brother and her father, you still chose to ignore her. And now this, we aren't making it up, like look at the fucking camera, why would be making this up!" Lexie panted looking at him, though he didn't say anything yet.
"John B , Sarah and me, sat by Sheriff Peterkin on the ground, while she was trying to help us, arresting Ward for killing Big John and for attempted murder of John B, we sat there while she was bleeding out, while i was bleeding in pain. so how much is paying you?" Lexie said in a monotone voice, stepping closer to Shoupe.
"what are you talking about?" Shoupe said, scrunching his face.
"How much is Ward fucking Cameron paying you! -" Lexie started to yell louder but JJ pulled her. "Lexie stop" JJ pulled her behind. "No no! He knows it! he knows the truth!" Lexie said crying, "he doesn't even care" Lexie whispered out, JJ wrapped his arm around her and took her outside.
Shoupe remained inside with Kiara and Pope, letting Lexie's word play in his head.

The next day, Lexie woke up with a hangover, "hey there" JJ said walking in with water and pain relief" Lexie sat up with a smile, "ahh the goods"
The pair talking about the pan that was set for today, "so you ready?" Jj asked. "more ready than ever" Lexie smiled, pulling the boy up.
They met Kiara and Pope by the entrance to the sewer. "This is the north drain, It should've gotten washed up into the gully, so if it got flushed out from this drain, it would've been pushed out to, like -" JJ said pointing around to the grass and water around them.
"somewhere in this trash" Pope stated. "correct" JJ replied.
Kiara sighed, "pope who use plastic should be shot"
"okay personally, i love plastic, use it everyday, love the stuff" JJ said, causing Lexie to smile at him.
"hopefully you recycle it and don't let it flush into the ocean" Kiara snapped at him, this time Lexie chuckling at Kiara.
"i thought you'd say something like, so -" Pope started, everyone looking at him confusingly. "so trash bags" she smiled at her.
"did you just proactively protect the environment?" Kiara asked, smiling at him, lightly blushing, Lexie smiled, she always knew about the feelings that circled the two.
"maybe" Pope said, the pair holding eye contact smiling. "you want us to leave you two alone or what's going on?" JJ said sarcastically. Pope threw the trash bags at JJ. "pick up the trash" Pope said before turning around.
"well that was fun" JJ said wiping his face, placing the last trash bag on top of the sewer. "if it's not in the trash, then it's got to be in the storm drain" Pope said.
