hello all!

Another chapter!!

i just wanted to say thank you to all who are still reading this story xx

you are wonderful souls who brighten my life.

because of that, I have a question at the end of the chapter to try and get to know you more x

Bjorn did not come back for the rest of the night.

Yet, I did not sleep. I could feel anger coursing through me mingled with a cutting sadness...

You were fooled... again...

The Fich Fich slipped into my mind as I stared at the entrance...

You know that he won't come back to you...

I suppressed the sigh that I wanted to heave from my chest.

This was the fich fich I was used to. It bared its fangs and scraped them along the wall of my skull.

At least I now knew that I deserved it...

The voices of those I have slain.... When would they let me be in peace...?

when we are at peace...

it hissed in response.

I released a small sigh. I was coming back down from the high I had been riding for the past few days it seemed. I felt that she had left me again- the warrior in my shadow.

And in my future.

The memory of that woman pushing me into the snake pit flashed before me. I knew that she would always be here... waiting to step in and 'handle' things. And maybe one day she wouldn't step back, and I would lose myself to the red mist in the end...

My trickling thoughts were interrupted by the guards parting the taupe for Floki to enter.

I didn't expect Bjorn and yet my heart sank a little further into my shell at the sight of Floki's grim face.

''hello, my lady seer.'' He greeted before rubbing the back of his neck.

The flash of early dawn beyond the entrance vanished as the guards gave us what little privacy was available.

I looked now at Floki with a blank expression as I assessed him.

He looked grave- worried sick and stressed beyond bearable levels.

''Hello, Floki.'' Was all I said then I went back to staring at the entrance.

In my periphery, I saw him pace back and forth slowly. He chewed on his nails as he muttered.

I let out a sigh which immediately stilled him. He stood alert, his eyes flashing to the entrance.

''I'm not going to kill you Floki, but your worry might...'' his stance relaxed as I looked to him for a long beat before sitting straight once more to stare at the door.

''did you know that you can feel the energy entering a space from the entrance? - when you came in a gloom followed you- it is suffocating this place...''

I stopped there.

I didn't want to explain how I knew.

And he didn't ask.

Instead, he came to sit on the floor beside me in silence before he spoke.

''my Helga, she is sick...'' he breathed heavily.
