The gang were traveling through the mountains

"We sure came a long way, haven't we?" Ash said

"Yes, we've seen tons of places." Serena said

"Fuschia City isn't far from here. It's just over the mountain, we just have to continue down this path to the road that will lead us to the city." Brock said

When they got to the road they saw a dozen trucks in a crash. The gang went to a construction worker who got out of his truck

"Sir, are you alright?" Ash asked

"I'm fine" the construction worker said

"What happened?" Ash asked

"They happened." The construction worker said pointing at a horde of tiny brown Pokémon. Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Diglett, the Mole Pokémon, A Ground Type, To farmers, Diglett can be a blessing or a curse. The soil it lives in becomes rich & fertile, great for growing crops—but this Pokémon can also be destructive, chewing on the roots of those crops.

"Because of the Diglett, we can't finish building the dam." The construction worker said "& we can't get supplies through because of them. We have no choice, but to fight them. So we're calling for Pokémon Trainers who are traveling through the area & will help us get rid of the Diglett."

"You're not going to try to kill them, are you?" Serena asked in shock

"What? No, no, no, it's not anything like that." The construction worker said waving his hands "We just wanna scare them away, that's all."

Then a few buses arrived at the scene, a lot of trainers came out & Ash saw Gary & Leaf

"Hey, Gary, Leaf" Ash called out

"Well, fancy seeing you here, Ash." Gary said

"Leaf" Serena said

"Serena." Leaf gasped surprisingly "Oh my gosh, it really is you. When Gary told me that you were traveling with Ash, I could hardly believe it."

"Yep, it's me in the flesh" Serena smiled

After the construction worker gathered the trainers.

" Everyone, I want all you trainers to help get rid of the Diglett, you can catch them if you want. Do not kill them, just try to scare them away." The construction worker announced

Just then the Diglett arrived

"Alright, Now here's your chance" the construction worker said

"This'll be a cinch, Go Wartortle" Gary said as he threw a Poké Ball

"Ivysaur, Go" Leaf said as she threw a Poké Ball

The Poké Balls landed on the ground but the Pokémon didn't come out which left Gary & Leaf confused, then two Diglett picked up the Poké Balls & retrieved them to Gary & Leaf

"Uhh...thanks, I guess" Gary said

All the trainers tried the send their Pokémon out, but the Pokémon didn't come out of their Poké Balls, & the Diglett retrieved the Poké Balls to their respective trainers

"At least they're polite" Serena said

"For some reason, the Pokémon don't wanna battle the Diglett." Gary said

"I wonder what reason why that is" Ash said

The trainers decided to give up & leave

"Great, that's just perfect" The construction worker sighed in frustration

At Night, the gang, Gary, Leaf, & the construction worker were relaxing in the hot springs.

"Are you feeling better, mister" Leaf asked the construction worker

"Just a little" the construction worker said "I just don't understand, why these Diglett are acting this way"

"Maybe the Diglett, live somewhere around the construction site where you're building the dam" Ash said

"Hmm, I think you might be onto something" the construction worker said in wonder.

Then they saw the Diglett pass by, they decided to follow them & were led to a mountain range, where some of the Diglett were planting little trees. Ash saw a Pokémon that looked like three Digletts huddled together & pulled out his Rotom Phone

Dugtrio, the Mole Pokémon, a Ground Type, & the evolved form of Diglett, By working together, the triplets that make up a Dugtrio can dig sixty miles into the ground. No one knows what this Pokémon's body looks like, because only its heads show above the dirt.

"I see" Brock said "the Diglett are planting the trees & The Dugtrio plowing the ground & the whole mountain range is like their backyard"

"I understand, the forests are like gardens that are made by these Pokémon." The construction worker said in awe "the mountain forest would be flooded, if we complete the dam, then there would be nothing left."

"I guess the Pokémon realized that before we did" Gary said

"& it's why they didn't come out of their Poké Balls" Leaf said

"I guess we have a lot to learn from our Pokémon's point of views" Ash said

"Hm" the construction worker smiled "the Giva Dam project's canceled, I have learned my lesson, but there is one thing left to do"

The next day

"Alright, Diglett & Dugtrio, use Magnitude & Earthquake" the construction worker said

The Diglett & Dugtrio used Magnitude & Earthquake to destroy the dam.

"Diglett" a Diglett said coming up to Brock

"Hey Diglett, you wanna join my team" Brock asked

"Diglett" Diglett nodded

"Alright, go Poké Ball" Brock said as he threw a Poké Ball at Diglett & caught it.
