(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I sigh softly, peeking over at Hiccup's notebook. He drags his pencil across the X's, sighing softly before peeking up at the small clearing in front of us.

Nothing.

He sighs, marking another X before aggressively scribbling out the map he created, slamming the book shut as I walk next to him with a wince, marking off my own map.

"Oh, the gods hate me," Hiccup groans as we walk, kicking a rock with a disheartened expression.

"That's not true," I disagree, making him snort.

"Really?" he questions, glancing to me with a flat expression. "Some people lose their knife, or a mug. No, not me." He starts, his voice becoming more irritated at himself. "I manage to lose an entire dragon!"

Hiccup smacks a branch, making me gasp and duck as it flies back, smacking him in the face as he yelps in pain.

"Are you okay?" I quickly question, pulling his hand away from his eye as he hisses in pain.

He looks up at the tree, making me pause and look back before tilting my head at the destroyed tree. We both look at each other as I move out of the way, looking back at the crater that drags in the ground.

"Come on," Hiccup whispers, sliding down and holding his hand out.

I take it, and he helps me down and stables me when I trip.

"Do you think it was...?" I trail off as he closely looks at the crater, shrugging in confusion as we continue.

He slowly peeks over the small mound of dirt before gasping, pulling me down as I yelp.

"Wha--?!"

"Shh!" Hiccup quickly and frantically shushes, gasping softly as he slowly peeks back over.

He quickly grabs his dagger, making me look over the dirt. My eyes widen as I exhale in disbelief, blinking rapidly at the sight.

The Night Fury was on the ground, tied up in the bola Hiccup had launched. But that wasn't all. A few feet away from it wrapped in the other bola was another dragon, one that was unfamiliar. It was bigger than the Night Fury by a small bit, its scales the same black shade as the Night Fury's.

"What... is that?" I question, looking at the other black dragon. "That's... not a Night Fury."

Hiccup gulps as he looks between the two dragons with wide eyes, shaking his head as he clears his throat.

"I-- I, uh, I don't know exactly," he replies, slowly climbing over the dirt and ducking behind a rock.

He motions for me to stay back, making me scoff lightly with a shake of my head as I follow after. Hiccup sighs when he sees me approaching with my own dagger drawn.

Hiccup slowly moves around the rock, me following closely as my hand lightly shakes.

"Oh, wow... I did it," he breathes out suddenly, relaxing.

"Is it...? You know?" I question, slowly approaching the Night Fury.

"I-- I think so! Oh, this fixes everything!" Hiccup laughs in disbelief, gripping at his head.

"You not only got a Night Fury, but... a whatever-this-is," I nod, smiling at the thought of Stoick being proud of Hiccup.

I approach the other dragon, tilting my head at it as I look over the body, gasping softly at the sight of his wounded arm. The slash ran up the side of his left arm, some scales scattered on the ground near it. My eyes trail up to the beautiful gem on his forehead, the stone shimmering brightly in the light before my eyes flick to his back to look at his silver-like wings. His wings were folded, traces of a few feathers scattered around him.
