hello...

i've been struggling for MONTHS—as you can tell because of the time that has passed since my last update—and i just can't write this fic. no matter how hard i try or how badly i want to, the inspiration just doesn't come to me...

after thinking for a while now, i've sadly decided to leave this story unfinished. i hate the decision because i truly do love this fic, avery and conrad, but i would rather focus on my other fics than forcing myself and post a chapter im not happy with.

i will leave you guys my rough sketch? plan? of what was going to happen in this book. pls keep in mind that sometimes i change things as i write, that some of these might not make that much sense or might have happened in a different order already !!

these are just short summaries? of the chapter are left in act one that i used to use a guide to write:

28. avery and conrad go sailing and are all adorable and in lovee. the next morning susannah begins to paint avery's portrait and they talk. susannah keeps bringing up love and future which makes avery suspect she knows about her and conrad.

29. conrad goes with cleveland and comes back home searching for avery. he finds her and tells that he had a panic attack. she tells him to tell her what's happening only then getting that is deeper than just the cheating. he tells her about susannah but then he tells her that he can't. she gets more and more confused. taylor is back and she's still a bitch even though belly told her to stop. taylor, belly and avery talk and belly tells them that jeremiah asked her to be her escort after their kiss. taylor is team jere and avery team cam. include the jealous shayla part and add something about avery and shayla talking about taylor. the volleyball thingy. cam plays with belly instead of conrad. conrad and avery being cuddly and in love while watching. the love thought crosses avery's head but she tries to ignore it. belly finds out jere only asked bc of susannah and then asks cam to be her date

30. nicole invites the girls to her boat. belly and taylor go but avery already has plans with the boys and shayla. steven making a joke about conrad ignoring them that summer like in the show only he blaims it on avery. they girls leave belly and taylor in the water bc she got a text from jeremiah apologizing and gigi got jealous(?). the two girls call cam and jeremiah. avery and conrad hooking up at the party. they go back downstairs when they run into jeremiah leaving and they also leave only they go straight to the house. belly gets home with cam.

31. the morning of the ball. susannah wakes them up. cute breakfast moment between avery and conrad. they get everything in the car and kiss. jeremiah and steven see it and freak out bc they were veryyy suspicious. ofc they made a bet. they talk to conrad who at first brushes it off and then mistakenly says the l word and they all gasp. belly and avery get ready.

32. the ball. avery and belly being nervous. sisters hug or some shit like that. they go and form the line. avery being all giggly when she sees conrad in the suit. him being in awe. very cute and sweet. belly and cam go after them. steven and shayla last. jeremiah does go after laurel and the dad, he hears them but he is just a guest. the boys do the stupid dance. the couples dance happens. jeremiah is outside. say something about of it being like a fairytale — end chapter the moment the dance ends.

33. begin chapter saying something about fairytales not being real. begins exactly when jeremiah approaches conrad. he's crying. like the show. avery crying in her room all alone. idk how i'll do that but yeah. end with her walking down to the kitchen and finding susannah. they talk, hug and cry. avery telling her how she's the only mom she has ever had. susannah telling her she will follow the treatment. use the "take care of him" line but about like each other (?). susannah saying something like "i just wanted one last perfect summer and deep down i've always known the best summer would be the one where you were also here"

34. avery finding conrad in the beach. use beginning of this part from the book. they talk. she breaks the silence by saying so that's why you've been acting like that. she asks him why he didn't tell her. they are both crying. he tells her the truth — he didn't want to hurt her and he really wanted to but always held himself back. — use a little bit of the lines from the show. something about i'm not leaving u

35. clean up day. use from the book but adapt so if fits the fic — avery and steven also go to swim at night. something about them calling avery one of them no matter that that was her first summer there

36. last chapter. they say goodbye to each other, get in their cars and drive back home. a short one but cute yk. avery talking about the summer. mention of how the summer didn't turn out the way the originally planned. avery and conrad holding hands in the drive back. going back to reality mentions(?).

i never started planning act 2/season2 just this:

ok so avery and conrad breaking up bc having to grieve susannah plus long distance was too much for them to handle and then avery pulls one from conrad's book and basically ignores him the first few months after break up every time he like calls and also pushes jeremiah away bc he reminds her of susannah a lot. at the funeral it can be just avery conrad talking and like screaming a little but like in conrad's room. and then when conrad finds out about the house he calls avery who gets on the first flight to cousins and stays with him. the whole thing is just going to be sad and then hooking up a few times, flashbacks, etc but ends with them not together bc conrad is leaving for stanford and avery is going back to princeton

again sorry for abandoning this story... it really does hurt me to do this but better this than forcing myself to write which is not fun at all
