"Your mom's gonna be proud of you when she sees the footage." Gale tells Kattnis and I can't help but role my eyes "Will this play in the districts?" He asks "It'll be tattooed on their eyes" Cressida tells him "There's a problem" Boggs says "What kind of problem?" Gale asks "Incoming bombers from the north. We need to find cover now" Boggs says "There's a bunker in there" paylor tells us and we all take off running inside "Straight ahead and down the stairs" she tells us but I hear shooting. Kattnis and I take off to the left to get a better look as Gale runs after us "Kattnis! Kattnis! Evelyn!" He calls out. "Everdeen! Lily!" Boggs yells "Gale back away from the wall!" Boggs yells I watch as bombs drop hard in front of us Gale Kattnis and I all dive out of the way. "You ok?" Boggs asks "Peachy" I groan standing up
Then we all look up at a sound of a building crashing. It was coming right for us "Move!" Bogg yells Gale Kattnis and I run one way while the rest get caught on the other side We look out of an opening watching the planes "They're going after something to the south" Gale says "That's towards the hospital" I say as I watch the planes fly by. "They're circling back around, come on" Kattnis says as we take off running. We quickly run up the stairs to the top of a building. Once we get up there I watch as a man with a gun gets shot down.
We walk out more only to duck a few moments later dodging getting shot. Then we look up to see them bomb a building. "That's the hospital. They're targeting the hospital" I say breathing heavy Kattnis and I both stand up grabbing an arrow, the planes circle back around and we all three lift our weapons.
They start to fire but we wait for the right moment to fire. We both let go at the same time hitting one of the planes. It crashes into the other plane and goes crashing down. It hits a small tower and that's when I realize. It was going to hit the hospital. "No" I mumble and take off running
I grab my stomach feeling absolutely sick when I see the whole hospital destroyed and on fire. "Help them! Help them get them out!" Kattnis yells as we run forward Gale grabs Kattnis as we both just stand there looking at the destruction. "Kattnis, Evelyn? Can you tell everyone what you're seeing right now?" Cressida asks us Kattnis and I slowly turn around tears in our eyes "What do you wanna say?" She asks again pointing at where we need to look "I want the rebels to know we're alive. That we're in district 8, where the Capitol just bombed a hospital" I speak up first with a harsh voice "Where the hospital was filled with unarmed men, women and children. And there will be no survivors. If you think for one second that the Capitol will ever treat us fairly you are lying to yourselves!" Kattnis yells "We know who they are and what they do! This, this is what they do!" I yell "And we must fight back!...." Kattnis yells as we turn around to the other camera "We have a message for president snow. You can torture us and bomb us and burn out districts to the ground. But do you see that? Fire is catching!And if we burn! We burn with us!" Kattnis yells "Listen to what I'm about to say Capitol. Your precious Snow will fall, and we will be standing on top!!" I yell at the camera Then both Kattnis and I drop to our knees crying for the innocent lives who were killed.
Kattnis and I stand next to coin as our video plays in 13. "Plutarchs faith in you both wasn't misplaced." Coin tells us "Thank you" we both nod "Come up with me for the beginning" she tells us both
We all three walk up after the video finishes and people cheer. "There is no progress without compromise. No victory without sacrifice. But I stand here with the mockingjays" she says and grabs our hands "To announce that our moment has arrived!" She cheers then lifts our hands as the people cheer
She smiles at us and we both walk back to our spots next to Finnick. "Beetee has increased our use of the airwaves tenfold. We will broadcast the message to all the districts tonight. The mockingjays words inspiring everyone to join the rebellion. Together, we will become an alliance to be reckoned with" she says then lifts her hand "You both don't like hearing a fight song at a funeral?" Finnick whispers to us "The more people on our side the closer we are to Peeta, Flynn and Annie" he tells us "Yeah" Kattnis nods "It's not the video I'm worried about" I tell them They both look at me wanting me to continue "It's her" I nod towards coin
I sit in my room holding a photo of Flynn and I. I decided to get up out of my room to go sit in the cafeteria, I was just standing there waiting for him to pop up on the screen so I could see his face. And they did. "They were arguably our favorite tributes. And I think that's what we all find most astonishing" Caesar says and I turn around to see Kattnis and Gale walk in "Is that these girls were adored in the Capitol." Caesar says as Kattnis comes and stands next to me "And I think for you both, it must be particularly painful" Caesar says as the camera shows there faces "Oh my God" I mumble lifting my hand up to my mouth. You could see the pain in their eyes, the darkness from no sleep and the torture. "I wish I could give you this rose, Kattnis" Peeta mumbles "He's changed so much already. What are they doing to them?" Kattnis asks "A sweet gesture for two girls who have inspired such violence. You must love them very much to be able to forgive them" Caesar says "They're shaking" I mumble "I don't think I could. Unless of course, you think that perhaps they're being forced into saying things she doesn't even understand." Caesar suggests "Yeah. Thats exactly what I think" Flynn tells him "His voice is different" I say tears threading to fall "I think they're using her to whip up the rebels. I doubt she even knows what's happening. And what's really at stake" Flynn says "Now Flynn Peeta I doubt that the rebels will ever let them see this, but if they do, what would you say to them? To the once sweet Kattnis and Evelyn" Caesar asks "I-I would tell her to think for herself. Don't be a fool Kattnis. I know you never wanted a rebellion." Peeta says "I know you Evelyn. The things you did in the games were never intended to start all of this. The rebels have made you into something you're not." Flynn says at the camera "Something that could destroy all of us. So if you have any power or any say in what they do or how they use you, please please urge them to stop this war, before it's too late." Peeta says "Ask yourself, can you trust the people you're working with? Do you know what they really want?" Flynn says as a tear rolls down his face "We need to respond" Gale says "Thank you Peeta and Flynn, for those revelations about the real mockingjays." Caesar says as Kattnis and I turn around to look at Gale "Did you see what they look like?" She asks him "I saw a coward" Gale says "You don't have any idea what they are going through!" I tell him "I don't care! I would have never said what they just said. Not if they tortured me not with a gun to my head." He tells us "That is the same Peeta who defended you at the whipping post." Kattnis tells him "No it's not! Now he's only defending himself.... Coins calling a meeting. We need to respond" Gale says as he starts to walk off "When did 'we' become you and coin?" I ask him "Everyone has a choice. How can he sit there in the Capitol and defend the people who destroyed his home and murdered his family?" Gale asks "They don't know" I realize "How could they? Nobody knows what the Capitol did to peetas family or 12" Kattnis says "We have to show them" I say
