We start walking through the city which was completely destroyed. Rubble, fire, smoke, everywhere you looked. "I've never seen this place so empty" Cressida speaks up "Just keep your eyes open" Boggs tells us
The holo starts to beep louder until Boggs lifts his hand "We gotta pod. Let's take cover" he tells us
"Shoot between those two buildings" he tells Kattnis as we take cover "Evelyn get next to her. Pollux.. right here. Castor" Cressida tells me making me roll my eyes at having to do this. "Good" Cressida smiles at the place meant "When you're ready Kattnis" she tells her She raises her bow "Hold it. Pollux tighter" she says and Kattnis drops her bow "Ok" Cressida nods Kattnis raises her bow again then shoots. The bow flys through and fire comes firing out of the building. We all duck when we hear a car explode. "I guess fire really is catching Kattnis" I laugh as we both stand up looking at it when Boggs speaks up "All clear" he nods
"I don't think we can get across this mine field" Gale says as we all sit taking a break Once again I sit a little bit away from them, giving Gale room to do whatever he tries to do everyday with Kattnis. "Not without that holo. And we're not gonna get it off of him while he's awake." Kattnis says "Let's make sure we're on the same watch tonight" Gale tells her "I'll be awake when and if you even get it" I tell them and Gale looks over at me like I didn't know about this whole idea. "What? You really think I didn't know about this whole thing? Yeah you probably didn't notice anyway to caught up in Kattnis' eyes" I tell him leaning against the wall
Unfortunately they didn't get to respond because we all jumped up, hearing sounds of cars coming. "Is that peacekeepers?" Homes asks "451 to base. We gotta a truck coming in from the south over" lieutenant jackson says into the radio
"Copy that over. Stand down everyone its spreadly" she tells us as we walk over Kattnis and I stand in front as we watch two people jump out of the back of the truck. The two people walk out into our view and Kattnis quickly draws her arrow. But I couldn't move, I felt frozen in shock. Walking towards me was Flynn. I watched as Flynn and Peeta kept their heads down as they walked towards us.
As they got closer I heard Flynn and Peeta mumbling. "My name is Flynn Dawson, my home is district 12. My name is Flynn Dawson, my home is district 12" I hear him mumble over and over again As soon as they get closer Kattnis raises her arrow at them. "Ok stop" Gale tells them "Hold on" Finnick tells him walking over towards them both "Everyone relax" he says "What are we doin?" Gale asks Boggs "Jackson cuff them" Boggs tells her before walking off Kattnis slowly lowers her bow as jackson shows them the cuffs "Soldiers these are just for cation. Until we get everything straightened out ok" Jackson's tells them as she puts on their cuffs
"They want us to add them to the propo. They're on our side now. We'll move forward a few blocks tomorrow and shoot the new footage." Boggs tells us "They're not in control of themselves." Gale says "I say we schedule a round the clock watch on them" jackson says. She keeps talking but I just look at Flynn "Give me a watch" I tell her "Me as well" Kattnis adds and everyone looks at us "If it really came down to it you think you could shoot them?" She asks us "We wouldn't be shooting them" Kattnis answers "We'd be killing a Capitol mutts" I add on "I'm not sure that kind of comment recommends you for the job either soldier." Jackson tells us "Put them in the rotation" Boggs tells her then walks off
Kattnis and I look at each other before getting up to follow Boggs. "He's gonna try to kill us. Especially with all this going on it's gonna set them off" Kattnis tells him "We'll keep them contained" he tells us "Why would coin do this?" I ask him He turns to look at us before answering "Here's all I know. It was Peeta and Flynn she wanted rescued from the arena. She never liked either of you. She doesn't like anybody or anything she can't control" he tells us "So she would put our lives in danger?" Kattnis asks "She'll deny it but..." he trails off "What?" I ask him "One way or another this war will come to an end. They promised a free election. Maybe she's starting to see both of you as a threat." He tells us "Nobody would- would think I'd be a leader" I tell him "Me either I don't- I don't understand" Kattnis says "But you'd throw your support at someone. Would it be her?" He asks and Kattnis and I just look away "If your imitate answer isn't a yes you're dangerous. She doesn't need you as a rally and cry anymore these propos can be done without you. There's only one thing you can do now to add more fire to this rebellion." He tells us "Die" Kattnis answers "That's not gonna happen under my watch girls. Im planning for you to have a long life." He tells us "Why, you don't owe us anything" I tell him "Because you've earned it" he tells us
"We've been here before you know" Flynn speaks up as it was my turn to watch them "What?" I ask "That look. I've seen that look. You're trying to decided whether or not you should kill me." He says sitting up "I never wanted to kill you... and that's not what I'm doing" I tell him "I saw with my own eyes. In the first games" he says "In the first games we weren't even together until the end" I tell him quickly "I've always seen you as an ally. Before and after the games" I add "Friend...lover...victor....prince....enemy...target...mutt. And now ally? Yeah I'll add that to the list of words while I try to figure you out" he says raising his voice some. Finnick sits up waking from the noise "I'm sorry. I just- I can't tell what's real and what's made up anymore." He says "Then ask. It's what Annie does" Finnick tells him "Ask who?" Flynn asks him "Us. We're your unit now." Jackson speaks up
"You used to train. Your parents trained you when you were young. Is that real?" He asks me "Yeah. That's real. They wanted-" I started to say "They wanted you to be ready to survive the games" he answers for me "Yeah" I nod "You spent most of your time out in the woods. You built a treehouse for yourself, you hunted your food, you sleep with the windows open, you prefer coffee over tea, you always look down throughout the day to make sure your shoes are tied" I tell him as I start to tear up "I'm sorry" I mumble and stand up "You were right. I can't do this" I tell jackson then walk off
