Bren's POV
I was listening to the radio with the volume low. I was just going at my own pace, following the speed limits posted every few miles as the area changed. I was going 35 when a truck behind me started blasting his horn. Road rage much? I looked at the clock in my car. 5:47 in the evening. Ugh, I forgot. Rush hour. I groaned and just continued on my way. There was a passing opportunity up ahead on the road. The truck can pass by me then. He can wait. He blasted his horn again. I sighed with irritation and rolled my eyes. I put my right blinker on and pulled over so the guy can pass. The truck sped by me. I swear the guy was going 45 maybe 50 at most. I hope he gets caught by a policeman.
Once I noticed he was out of my sight, I pulled back onto the road. Lucky thing there were no cars coming. I carefully got back onto the road and drove on towards Becca's dad's house. Then as I continued to drive, an old song popped up on the radio. I was surprised to hear it. It hasn't been played in a few years. I started to sing along.
I miss the sound of your voice
And I miss the rush of your skin
And I miss the still of the silence
As you breathe out and I breathe in
If I could walk on water
If I could tell you what's next
I'd make you believe
I'd make you forget
So come on, get higher, loosen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love
So come on, get higher, loosen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love
I miss the sound of your voice
Loudest thing in my head
And I ache to remember
All the violent, sweet
Perfect words that you said
If I could walk on water
If I could tell you what's next
I'd make you believe
I'd make you forget
So come on, get higher, loosen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love
So come on, get higher, lossen my lips
Faith and desire and the swing of your hips
Just pull me down hard
And drown me in love
I miss the pull of your heart
I taste the sparks on your tongue
I see angels and devils
And God, when you come on
