Chapter 10

The bastard woke me up way, way too early. What was it, like five am back up the surface? Danicio at least waited until I woke up, but no, Prince Taiven apparently doesn't wait after anyone but himself.

"Up, up, up Tarabelle!" He said swimming into my room. Right now, I was incredibly grateful that underwater they didn't have pots to bang on, because I'm one hundred percent sure that Taiven would have done it.

"Go away" I whined as I turned around on my small rock/bed, trying to keep my eyes closed.

"I do not take my orders from you." He snapped in his usual Taiven-like irritating tone. "Now, I suggest you get up before I decide to swim you out of the castle myself."

I was about to reply something along the lines of "go to hell", "fat chance princy", "off my fake mermaid body", but decided to hold my tongue; yes, I was just being that nice today.

With a groan, I turned around and faced Taiven, still lying down. "I changed my mind" I said to him. "I want my yummy Danicio back."

"Sorry, but I'm afraid that today he is helping Adara plan the wedding. Now up!" He said to me. He was getting Danicio to plan his wedding? Seriously? He couldn't do that with his fiancé like he was supposed to? Ugh. He was such a spoiled brat—I mean fish.

Finally I swam off my rock and stretched, doing my best to ignore the victory smile on the prince's face. This guy was going to drive me crazy all day. But I was seriously going to do my best to tough through it. If this merman was searching to break me, well it wasn't going to happen today.

As Taiven swam out of my chambers, I followed him doing my best to keep up. Maybe I wasn't as good of a swimmer as I thought. "So" I said. "What are we doing today?"

"We are going to work on your pathetic swimming." The prince answered as if reading my mind—like usual.

"What? I thought my swimming was just fine." I objected rather insulted, resisting the urge to slap that silly smile off of his face again.

"It is just fine, as you say; but just fine will not get you through strong and powerful waves." He said as we exited the castle. I seriously had so clue where we were going, but he seemed to. Guess I was just going to have to trust him. Not fair. So not fair.

Finally, after swimming for way to long, my tail started acing. But of course Taiven seemed unaffected and kept on going. Again, I tried to keep up with him because I knew that he was just waiting for me to give up. But after another thirty minutes of swimming, I really just couldn't take it anymore.

"Taiven" I said out of breath and falling behind. "Can we just stop for five minutes, please?"

"Finally tired Tarabelle?" Taiven asked me slowly down. "You lasted longer then I thought you would have. I must praise you for that."

"There is no 'place' is there? You're just making me swim around to practice, aren't you?" Well, so much for trusting him.

"So you have been paying attention. There may be hope for you yet Tarabelle." The prince commented.
