I wrote this one to "What a Wonderful World" by Chase Holfelder, so I included the song in the top. Just swipe over to play it.

Enjoy my loves!

The sun just brought itself over the horizon as Bjorn rode out into the woods. Snow had fallen the night before and made the air sting with its coolness, though Bjorn enjoyed it.

So did you.

After a few short minutes, Bjorn found his prey. His bright blue eyes stalked it as he dismounted from his horse and slowly drew out his bow and arrows. He pulled the bow up to aim and watched as his breath was visible in front of him.

It was almost too quiet though, Bjorn took note of that as the only sound was his boots in the snow and the wind against the weak branches.

You could hear everything.

He pulled his arm back and released the arrow, listening for impact. There was nothing though, no cry of pain from the elk, not even the sound of the arrow hitting a tree or the ground.

He peeked his head up from the bush he was behind and was shocked to not even find his arrow anywhere.

You never missed.

In fact, the animal wasn't even there, nor were any tracts  showing it had run off. Bjorn just stared in confusion as the sound of the wind of the branches grew louder.

Why was it so loud, he could hardly feel the wind on him. The wind wasn't strong enough to move the branches now that he thought about it.

Never let your prey hear you.

Bjorn looked up slowly at the trees and saw nothing. No one, or thing, was up in the trees watching him.

Bjorn let our a breath he didn't know he was holding in as he looks back down and then back at his horse, who had moved over to another tree.

Something wasn't right though. An extra pair of footprints were marked in the snow. Slightly smaller than his own.

Once again he looked up and back down. Then he saw you.

"Bjorn." You smiled as you looked at the man.

He just stared, not happy or scared. Just interested in what you were doing.

"What, nothing to say to your old best friend?" You mock, a hint of anger laced in your voice

"What, nothing to say to your old best friend?" You mock, a hint of anger laced in your voice.

You had been banished when Bjorn was a child. You were accused of being cursed, as the year of your birth put a disease over Kattegat, and it wouldn't go away.

It didn't touch you though, or your family. To try and stop the disease you would go out every night to the woods and make offerings to the Gods, praying in every way you could.

People assumed you were going to the woods to perform rituals and keep the disease around though. They despised you and wanted nothing more to do with you, so they did the most logical thing they could think of and killed your parents for creating you and sent you away.

You were 7 then.

"I am surprised to see you are alive." Bjorn spoke slowly and you laughed to yourself as you stood by a tree.

"Luck I suppose. How long has it been, 12 years?" You question as you raise your eyebrow.

Bjorn nods and makes his way over to you.

"Don't come near me, remember, I'm a curse. Just as your father claimed." You snap at the man and he stops dead in his tracks.

"What a wonderful world it is, right? Wouldn't you agree Bjorn. As I'm assuming you remember, everything around me dies faster than it should. I'd like to think it's a gift but not, I'm a curse." You hiss and Bjorn just stares at you.

"I-I'm sorry about what happened, I really am." Bjorn says softly and you give him a death glare.

"You went with me all those nights, you could of told them the truth but instead you stayed quiet! You let them kill the only people who cared for me! Nothing you could ever say could mend the hole you put in my heart!" You yell as you walk up to the man with harsh intentions.

You grab his face and his hisses in pain as what feels like tiny needles are poking into his skin.

"Tell your father I'm still alive, and I've never forgotten him," You growl, "Nothing he can do will stop me, I will destroy everything he loves." You finish as you let go of Bjorns face.

Veins showing on his cheeks as they bruise quickly. He holds his face and slightly winces at the new pain.

"I'll make him watch as I kill you from the inside out." You mutter as low as possible and walk back out of the small opening Bjorn had been in and back into the woods.

Bjorn stands there in shock and just as he turns around a loud thump hits the ground and he looks back over his shoulder and sees a dying bird letting out its last few breaths.

He slowly backs up until he hits his horse and takes heavy breaths as he mounts his horse and rides off back to Kattegat to warn his father.

All he can think about are your words.

What a wonderful world.
