Chapter 5 - Starting To Believe

The security captain was so pissed off by WeiXi's last words, his whole body was uncomfortable.

But then WeiXi just happened to be led away by that rich couple and he was afraid that chasing after them would be too rash. But he couldn't just swallow this anger, so it all got vented onto his subordinates and the remaining tourists. There were some casually dressed tourists who don't come to scenic spots very often and weren't very familiar with ticketing procedures. As a result, they kept holding up the line and the security captain cursed at them like a devil.

The little subordinate tried to calm him down several times but got verbally abused in return and became too scared to try again. He had no choice but to listen to his leader reprimand repeatedly by his ear.

Not a while later, one of the exit gates was held up again. He went over to check and discovered it was two young men who couldn't find their tickets.

Both of their clothes were filthy and damaged, like they had been tumbling on the ground and aggressively tearing at each other. Even though they didn't look as strange as the youth in the robes earlier, their downtrodden state wasn't far off and they even had injuries on their faces.

Both of them seemed pretty hot tempered still, each busy looking for their ticket while still accusing the other.

The white shirt man: "Dammit, it's all your fault. Must've been lost during the fight on YingZui Peak."

The green shirt man: "Well my ticket's lost too, okay? Besides, if it wasn't for you being all mouthy, we wouldn't have fought to begin with."

The little subordinate was listening to them with a head full of foggy water and wanted to ask them, but saw his captain come towards them at a fast pace. Seeing them in a difficult position, his expression immediately turned impatient: "Why are the two of you blocking the way here? Where're your tickets? Take them out."

Both of them replied: "Lost it."

"Fucking shit." The captain swore loudly. "Why are you people one after another claiming your tickets are lost today? Don't gimme anymore bullshit. All of you, pay the fine!"

Well of course they weren't willing. At first the two of them tried to bargain and asked if they can look up ticket records with their ID. Unfortunately the captain's only intention was to find someone else to vent his anger on and thought they looked easy to bully so he didn't agree. He just kept cursing at them to pay the fine otherwise they can't leave.

Who knew that the two men, even though their clothes were all ragged, had aggressive tempers as well. Seeing that the guard was giving them a hard time on purpose, they happily switched to using their fists instead. You can even say their cooperation was flawless.

And after all, these were two adult men. When they got angry, it doesn't matter how dirty the captain fought, he'd still have a hard time. He carried an anti-riot stick and when faced with his two opponents was still fairly well-matched. However, when his subordinate finally called their colleagues over to separate them, both sides have been heavily injured.

But that's not where it ends. The captain was taken to the hospital afterwards where they requested he call his family to keep him company. After some back and forth consideration, he decided to call his wife who had already left to visit her parents. And then when his wife showed up, she brought a whole gang of relatives with her. They were all here for back up when their own family's beaten and abused daughter requested her divorce.

The captain was really stunned. He never thought that the wife he had beaten into submission over the past few decades could suddenly be so bold and daring.
