There was blood on her chapped lips
Iron mixed on his tongue.
He feels the euphoria of a one night stand
And the intensity of a first love.
When she pulls away,
Jason looks down.
His stomach turns,
Nauseous.
Blood and glass is all over the kitchen.
Justin King is dead.
"We have to leave LA," he says. "We can't be here."
Sadie packs a bag:
Clothes and money.
She takes Justin's keys
And they hop into his Cadillac.
The first minutes are quiet.
Jason just drives, aimless.
He can't go back to his apartment.
He can't go back to the band.
"Jay, are you okay?" Sadie asks.
"I think it's gonna bruise," he answers, touching the side of his face.
Sadie mirrors him, touching her own cheek.
"I think mine will too."
Then the strangest thing happens
They both laugh.
