As the evening approached,
Jason found a motel.
A room for two,
Up the stairs on the left.Sadie ran a hot shower,
Steam flooding the mirrors.
Jason sat in the room,
Looking at the empty road.He thought of the day;
Chaotic
Exciting
Surreal
If he closed his eyes,
Maybe the bruises on his face would melt away
Maybe he would lose the gaudy carpet beneath his feet
And maybe the girl in the shower would disappear."Jay? I'm done."
He opens his eyes. They sleep in separate beds.
Jason likes Sadie a lot,
But there was too much in his head.He didn't know how to hold her
If he should push her hair back
Or kiss her cheek. His cheek still stung
And he was so, so tired.
So they said nothingAnd just slept.
