Jason breathes in

And answers.
"Hey Jason, so your landlord said you never went home — and I know we've been stuck together for a month so if you fucked off on your own it's perfectly fine — but you doing okay, man?"
"Oh, um."
"Like I know there was that thing about Sadie, but as long as you're watching yourself."
A pause.
"It's fine."
It's not fine.
