You woke up. It was kind of random, actually.

It was still dark, and you were only half awake

But... something felt off to you.

Ryuzaki was beside you like always, but..

There was something wrong...

He was trembling, you could see it in his hands

You watched as he winced as if he were in pain, tightly closing his eyes shut and starting to toss and turn at the slightest.

Small and heartbreaking whimpers escaped his mouth as he did so

There was obviously something wrong, was he ill?

Honestly, you started to panic. Was it Kira?

You didn't know what to do!

You cupped Ryuzaki's cheek, placing another hand on his shoulder, gently shaking him as you said his name
"Ryuzaki...??? Wake up..!"

Finally, he opened his eyes. He looked around frantically as if he were panicking but softened when his eyes met with yours

"Ryuzaki....?"
You asked carefully

"(Y-Y/N)..?"
He spoke in shaky breaths, stuttering his words

You caressed his sweating face
"What's wrong..? Are you alright?"

Frankly, you were freaking out

He still trembled
"Bad...dream.."

Oh..

It was just a nightmare..

But to really make him act like this..? What happened..?

You wanted to ask him what it was about, but you decided not to..

"How can I help..? Do you need something?"

He looked away from you
"Hold me..."

You widened your eyes, what was wrong?
"L..?"

"P-Please.."
He pleaded with the most heartbreaking tone..

Hesitantly, you slowly start to put your arms around him, but the second you even touch him, he instantly had wrapped his own arms around your waist in only a moment

He held close to you as if he were clinging on for dear life

"Are you..okay...?" You ask quietly, slowly petting Ryuzaki's head

He nods in response. His face was entirely buried in your shirt as the rest covered by his fluffy jet black hair.

"L... can you look at me, please?"

Slowly..

Very slowly, he looked up at you with glossy eyes

You placed your palm over his head
"Ryuzaki, you're sweating.. are you sure you're alright? I don't think you are..."

You moved down the bed over to him, your faces now right next to each other

He looked over to you like a kitty with those big, wide, sad eyes.

You smiled gently and got closer, kissing his cheek ever so slightly
"Do you want to talk about it..?"

He shook his head

This is a new side of him..

He seemed very scared, much like the times when Aizawa yelled at him or when the second Kira mentioned something about shinigami's.

But this time...

This time was quite different

He was much more mentally vulnerable and shaken out of his mind. Whatever that nightmare was, it messed him up.

To make Ryuzaki behave like that, it must have deeply affected him more than you could imagine

Though your curiosity urged you to want to know what this dream was, out of respect, you didn't bother after asking him once.

When he feels comfortable, he can tell you.

Now's not the time...

After a few moments of petting his soft hair back, he finally calmed down and stopped trembling.

"Do you feel better?"
You asked, still petting his hair.

He closed his eyes comfortably every time your hand touched his hair and opened them when you didn't..

.. to look back at you because he missed your face

"Mhm.." He hummed

Finally

Sound

"Do you want me to get you anything?"
This entire time, you kept asking him questions. It's honestly what you did when you were nervous.
You were afraid that you were starting to get annoying to Ryuzaki, but that wasn't the case with him.

He shook his head and spoke in a soft tone
"No... thank you, (Y/N)"

You sighed and caressed his cheek with your fingers, tracing his features as you spoke in a small pout.
"You really scared me, you know.."

"I'm sorry... I never meant to frighten you, my love.."

My love...

Every time he called you that, you felt your heart flatter.

"Ryuzaki, I love you.."
You suddenly felt the urge to tell him this, coming in closer and snuggling into his chest

You felt his chest vibrate as he silently chuckled

"Why the sudden confession?"
He asked, still chuckling. You were glad he was smiling again. He put his arms around you and held you even closer.

"I don't know..." You snuggled into his scent more
"Felt like it.."

"..I love you too, (Y/N). Always and forever, my love."
He kissed the top of your head

You looked up and smiled at his pale handsome face looking back at yours

The small gap between you both was closed by Ryuzaki slowly connecting his soft lips to yours

The kiss was so soft and gentle as your lips moved together as one, his tongue slightly enveloping your top lip

You pulled away slowly, your lips slightly sticking to each others as you disconnected

Looking into each others eyes, you both smiled

"I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you... I would be lost, you know that, love?.."

You blushed all flustered and shook your head
"You're lying.."

He gently lifted your chin up to him
"I never lie to you, (Y/N), you know that. And I don't ever plan to."
He smiles and kisses your nose

"Are you sure you're okay, L?"
You ask. He honestly had scared you quite a bit earlier.

He smiled and nodded in response
"I'm alright..it was just a dream with memories I didn't want to re-live.."

"You don't want to talk about it?"
You twirled a piece of his hair around your finger, he liked that.

"No..."
He grabbed a hold of your hand and kissed the back of your palm softly
"Not now.."

"That's fine."
You smiled and blushed at his gentle touch.
"Take your time... i'll be here when you're ready."

He nodded and kissed your forehead
"Thank you, my love."
