"INCOMING!!"
Avani thrusted her hands upwards while a green vine rose from the dirt and she flung it towards the incoming fireball and it hit the gigantic creature right in the eye.
Azalea elbowed and kicked the giant venom-spitting spiders, blew them away, and turned them into dust.
Green vines shot up from the ground and it wrapped around the fire creature.
As soon as it touched it's skin, the vines burned to ashes.
"AZALEA! IT'S NOT WORKING!"
Azalea glanced at Avani as the creature flung it's hand and blew Azalea away, knocking her out.
"Azalea!"
Avani glared at the creature that's creeping towards her.
Think, Avani, think. Oh god when do I ever think.
Avani's eyes scanned over her surroundings and spotted a big muddy pond behind the creature.
Before the creature had a chance to react, she yanked her arm back and the mud beneath the pond obeyed.
The water came flying onto the creature and it screamed in agony.
In less than a minute, the fire-throwing creature was washed and drained down to ashes.
Avani ran to where Azalea was lying.
Azalea groaned and sat up. "Avani! You didn't leave anything for me to kill?!"
Avani laughed. "Well it's too bad that I'm stronger than you."
Azalea rolled her eyes and laughed.
For the past week, Avani and Azalea have encountered many situations like this.
They were now a team.
They work like a team, think like a team, they even talk like a team.
They were best friends.
Avani would always think back to Lanny...
All the small inside jokes...the mini TED talks...their favourite movies...late night games...
But none of that exists now.
Especially how Lanny never cared about the environment.
All humans were the same; selfish.
From her principal to her best friend, all of them.
Selfish.
Avani now looked at people except for her and Azalea in disgust.
They had no right to just step all over the planet.
And now Avani was going to make things right.
No, she's not going to kill people.
She's going to kill plastic.
They've destroyed about a quarter of the plastic on Earth.
With Azalea's help, this only took about a month.
She smiled to herself, she was glad she found a friend like Azalea.
