Amy POV
"You're worthless." Teddy spat, throwing the beer bottle on the ground.

I jump.

"I. Hate. You." He hisses before leaving my apartment.

Tears begin streaming down my face uncontrollably.

Jake. That's who I need. Jake.

"Amy?" I hear Jakes voice call.

"Jake?! Jake help me." I bawl.

"Amy wake up."

Just then I sit up quickly in my bed. Jake is sitting across from me looking me up and down with confusion.

"What happened?" He asked me.

"Bad dream." I state, shaking my head lightly.

I lay back down closing my eyes. He wraps his arm around me and I tense up.

"What is it?" He whispers in my ear.

"It was a dream about Teddy." I tell him.

He lets go of me, sitting up. I sit up too, facing him.

"Sorry." I apologize.

"For what." He looks at me confused again.

"I don't know." I confess. "It feels like Teddy is a big topic of conversation with us."

"We don't have to talk about it. But if you ever want to talk about your relationship with him or anything I'm here." He assures me with a smile.

I nod my head slowly.

I think about it for a moment.

"Teddy used to..." I begin clearing my throat. "Call me mean things and say mean things. He would call me worthless, pathetic, ugly and more things. He would come to my apartment drunk and would throw beer bottles everywhere. Never at me but I was the one who had to deal with the mess after."

Jake stares at me. I wipe away my tears.

"I'm so so sorry." He tells me.

"You have nothing to be sorry for." I force a laugh.

"I still am though." He gives me a sad smile.

He places a hand on my knee giving it a light squeeze before taking it away.

I freeze.

Teddy used to do that.

My whole body tenses up. I can hear my heart beat in my ears. Loudly. I start breathing heavily. Not fast, but heavily. Tears well up in my eyes. The kind of tears that never fall but instead just stay there in your eyes blurring your vision.

"Amy are you ok?" Jake asks me placing his hand back on my knee.

I swat his hand away and he looks at me with a hurt and confused expression. I stand up quickly grabbing a pair of running shoes and a zip up sweater.

I run out of the door of Jakes apartment with my phone, gun and badge on me. I run and run and run down multiple streets until I fall down.

Then I see Jake running behind me. He jogs up to me, then sits down on the ground.

"What's going on?" He asks.

I start bawling my eyes out and Jake immediately pulls me into his chest holding me tightly.

"It's ok." He assures me. "You're ok. You're safe. I'm here."

My whole body starts shaking but Jake holds me steady.
