Ch 39- Birthday

"Areee? Tu mara nai? (Areeee? You not dead yet?)"

Aman smirked passing an amazed look at Karan upon opening the door who let out a sigh rolling his eyes unamused.

"Mujhe laga abhi tak depression se mar gaya hoga! (I thought you would have been dead of depression by now!)"

Quick-witted Aman again hinting at Karan's mood-off the day earlier, in response of which Karan shook his head in distaste stepping inside ignoring the taunting smile playing on Aman's face who smirked wide closing the door behind following him to his room. Reaching where Karan exclaimed surprised

"Such a big gift!! Is this for Benny?"

"No, it's for Aditi!!", Karan's face dried up in a flash hearing her name. His eyes which were wandering over the medium sized box neatly packed in blue gift wrap and a red ribbon, placed on the bed, shifted instantly to Aman who had an instant bite on his inner cheeks watching Karan's flushed face.

"You were uninvited, weren't you?"

"Get your facts right! I am invited!!", Aman played his natural smirk passing his hand through the hair causing Karan's hands to mount on his hips as he raised one of the eyebrows asking

"And who invited you?"

"Kan-- Àditi! Aditi invited me!", An evil smirk played at the thought which crept in his mind just the moment he was about to answer making him twist his words instantly taking Aditi's name. Hearing which, Karan's face expressions changed from dubious to sad in no moment as he asked sounding soft

"Aditi?"

"Yes, she phone called me last night, asking me to be there on time and that you--", Aman took a pause peeking at Karan whose eyes grew wide expectantly causing Aman to force shut his lips suppressing the smile muttering

"That you can!"

"Can what???", The urgency in Karan's voice was giving immense pleasure to Aman who rolled in his lips driving Karan more curious who raised his voice questioning again

"Can what??????????"

"Can choose to not come!!", All the eagerness flushed in a dry second leaving Karan's mouth partly opened as the words came completely out of the blue piercing through his expectations. Frowning he watched Aman who decided to add more salt to his wounds starting exactly from where he left

"Also recommend that you to stay home, sit in some dark corner mourning over the mistake while listening-", Aman quick shoved his hand in his pant's pocket looking for his phone, getting which he smiled. Pulling it out switching it on looking for the song, finding the same a satisfactory smile played on his lips, whereas Karan blinked his eyes rapidly trying to fit in all the words Aman just said.

Aditi said all this? And sent him a song? Like really?

His mouth agaped with incredulity, which went shut no sooner hearing the song play
