Chapter 13: Acceptance

"I'm resigning." Xiao Zhan told Zhui Li after three days that he's been in the hospital. He bowed in 90 degrees in front of Zhui Li "I... I'm really sorry about what happened. I'm sorry for causing trouble in your family specially to your eldest son. I... I know it was inappropriate to make him involve with my personal issues. I... I'm really sorry madam." He continued. "I'm really sorry." He said sincerely with trembling voice. He really didn't know how he will face Zhui Li after what happened. He felt so embarrassed because the people who was kind to him saw his ugly side. They give them a lot of trouble when he was in the hospital. Zhui Li paid all the bills and he make sure that Xiao Zhan was well taken care of.

"Raise your head Xiao Zhan." Zhui Li ordered. "Are you okay now?"

"I am." Xiao Zhan replied with guilt. "I'm sorry for getting your son involved with my personal matters." He added. His ex-boyfriend was now in jail after what he did to Xiao Zhan but while they are fixing the case, Yibo need to be interviewed a lot of times because he was a witness of the scene and since he is still a minor, Zhui Li need to come with him all the time.

"If you really want to quit then I will not stop you but... I still need your help and I didn't want to have any assistant other than you." Zhui Li replied to him. "I will not deny that I was scared, when I received a call that Yibo was brought to the hospital I panic. Why is Yibo outside at that time of the night? What happened to him that made him in that situation? As a mother, I felt scared but then when Yibo woke up, the first person he look was you. Where are you? Are you alright? Are you awake? He asked those question repeated and then he cry in my arms. Why is he weak? Why is can't he do something to protect you?"

Xiao Zhan gasped hearing those words from Zhui Li. It was the first time he heard what Yibo did after he woke up.

"It was the first time I saw my son so vulnerable like that."

"I... I'm sorry."

"Do you... really not have feelings for my son?" Zhui Li asked curiously and those words hit like arrow strike his heart. Have no feelings? That's a lie. That time that he was in that vulnerable state, Yibo was always on his mind. He wanted him to come to save him, he keep on calling his name on his thoughts. While he was laying down on the hospital bed, he wanted to see him so much but he can't. He didn't know how he will going to face him. He didn't know what to say, he didn't know what to tell him. Xiao Zhan felt so dirty after his ex-boyfriend molested him and what's worst was Yibo saw it. It pains his heart and dignity, for the first time he felt so wasted that he feel he is not worth of anything at all, specially Yibo's innocent and pure feelings for him. He doesn't deserve him.

"I am grateful for what he did but... he's better with someone else."

Xiao Zhan went out of the room and the first one he saw was Fanxing who was still in his pajama. He thought him and Yibo went to school already. "Fanxing, what are you..."

Fanxing immediately approached Xiao Zhan and hugged him tightly. "Zhan-ge, are you okay now? I heard that you were sent to the hospital and... and... I am glad you came back."

Xiao Zhan smiled seeing the cute Fanxing hugged him tight. "Yeah I am back." He told him. "But... why are you here? You're supposed to be in school right now."

"Oh my god, Fanxing, why did you get out of your room, you still have a fever" the maid said to Fanxing.

"I heard Zhan-ge is here so I want to see him." Fanxing replied. Xiao Zhan tap Fanxing's forehead and like the maid said he was feverish, there's no doubt he was still in his pajama at that time. Xiao Zhan lifted Fanxing and bring him back to his room.
