Chapter 22: Bread

Present time

If I didn't let go of you that time, will things stay the same?

Xiao Zhan checked on his phone's gallery while lying down on the bed still naked but his lower part was covered with a blanket. Darren on the other hand just came out from the bathroom after taking a bath. "You should sleep more." He said, Xiao Zhan shake his head. "Are you okay now? Did your heat subsided?" Darren asked as he wipe his hair.

"Yeah it did." Xiao Zhan replied. He put down his phone and stood up. He wore a bathrobe to cover his naked body "I need to leave; Ji Yang is waiting for me. I'll just take a bath and I'm going home." He told him, he passed in front of Darren to go to the bathroom but the latter grabbed his hand and pulled him closer and give him a back hug.

"Why don't you stay for the night? Your little sister was there to look after Ji Yang right?" Darren asked him.

"You know I can't leave two girls alone in the house, right?" Xiao Zhan replied. He hold on Darren's arm and pushed it gently away from him so that he can go to the bathroom. Darren sighed as he watched Xiao Zhan went inside it without looking back at him. Darren sit down on the bed and sneaked a look at Xiao Zhan's cellphone with wallpaper of him and Ji Yang, eating strawberry cake together.

"Cute" he complemented.

Fanxing take a deep breath, he stopped his bicycle in the intersection near Zhongshan High School where he first saw Guo Cheng with his teacher Xiao Zhan. He can't forget what happened yesterday, he finally saw the Alpha that make his heart beat in an unexpected way like how it was explained on stories when you found someone that is meant for you, it's beating so fast like it's going to pop out of his chest. But things didn't turn out well, he thought that his Alpha will feel the same way as he did but instead of having those fluttering moments, his Alpha get mad at him because of an unexpected situation and he wanted to apologized for what he did.

"I'm your beta." That is what he replied when Cheng asked who he was but that answer just made Guo Cheng confused and ignore him afterwards. He called Milky and Choco to leave but Fanxing wanted to talk to him more so he grabbed Guo Cheng's hand but an accident happened. Fanxing stepped on a glass bottle which rolled the moment he steps on it and made him loss his balance. Everything happened in a blink of an eye, Fanxing was not able to control his balance and falls down straight to Guo Cheng.

Fanxing opened his eyes and he saw himself laying down to the unconscious Guo Cheng, he hit his head in a wood and for some reason loss consciousness. Even he kept calling his name he's not answering at all. With the help of Choco and Milky, they brought Cheng to the nearest clinic and the doctor told them that there's nothing to be worried about, he just loss consciousness and has a little bump on his head.

Fanxing went back home after Milky and Choco told him that they will take care of Guo Cheng. They were afraid that their boss will go berserk ones he saw Fanxing and remembered what happened. It was the first time that someone knocked him down that way and it might hurt his 'yankee' heart. He never loss to anyone in his life and the two thinks that Cheng will be totally upset and will be in rage ones he saw Fanxing's face so they want him to leave before he woke up.

But it was a big misunderstanding, it was 100% accident and he didn't want to fight against them. How can those two interpret his gestures as an attack? Is everyone who approach them just wanted to pick a fight that they generalize every attempt as an invitation to exchange fist? Can't they see that his aim to get close to Guo Cheng is pure and innocent?

Those thoughts bothered Fanxing the whole night that he can't sleep well. He's worried about Guo Cheng and he wanted to clear the false accusation, he needed to clear his name that he was not an enemy and so he waited for Guo Cheng to arrive on their school.
