That's My Baby

Part fifteen

We laughs as we try to cut the tension.

Daniel- So, we're having a boy?

Y/n- I guess so

He leans over in the car and kisses me, this time I kiss back.

We're having a boy!

We drive back to his house and his brothers are still awake playing videos games in the living room.

Y/n- I'm going to go relax in bed, I'll probably come down later

Daniel- No worries, we'll be here if you need anything

I smile at him and slowly make my way up the stairs. I get up to my room and grab a change of clothes and get into the shower. Once I'm finished I change into some sweatpants and a large shirt.

I go and lay in bed trying to fall asleep for well over an hour but nothing. I keep tossing and turning until I decide to go down and get some water.

As I'm walking down the steps I hear Daniel talking to one of his brothers. I think it's Tyler. I sit down on the stairs to hear what they're talking about, once I hear them say my name

Tyler- Are you sure this is the right decision with
y/n?

Daniel- I think it is. It's my baby after all. I want to be in it's life, even if that's the consequence. I can't lose him.

Tyler- Well, if you're sure then I got your back. Just think about it, don't make the wrong choice

Daniel- I really like her Tyler, do you think she'll go for it?

Tyler- Ask her yourself
He says pointing towards me.

I didn't think he'd be able to see me from here, but clearly he knows this house better than I do.

I scoot to the bottom of the steps so it's easier to stand up and I walk over. Tyler says goodnight and walks up the stairs

Y/n- Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I just didn't want to walk into an important conversation

Daniel- It's okay, do you need anything? Are you hungry?

Y/n- Starving actually

Daniel- I'll make you something, don't worry. I do have a question to ask you though

He says walking into the kitchen and starts making us a late night snack. I sit down at the counter

Y/n- What's up?

Daniel- Do you want to go on a date tomorrow?

Y/n- Ouu our first date, hey?

Daniel- Yeah, I think we need one. It'll be romantic, nice dinner, maybe a movie after

Y/n- Hey, don't worry, you can't get me pregnant

We both laugh.

We make small talk while he finishes cooking. He finishes cooking us some hash browns and he hands me a plate. He sits down across from me to eat.

Y/n- Hey Daniel

Daniel- Yeah?

Y/n- Can you tell me what you and Tyler were talking about?

Daniel- Thats actually what I wanted to talk to you about, but I was going to do it tomorrow after our date

Y/n- Thats fine, we can talk about it tomorrow

We finish eating in a somewhat awkward silence. I didn't know what to say because all I thought about was his conversation with the boys and now his brother.

Daniel puts the dishes in the dish washer and we head to bed. He says goodnight and kisses my cheek.

I still can't shake the feeling that I don't belong here.
